Good Morning Everyone 😎

Everyone on the committee just want to offer a big thank you to everyone for their support of Alpha throughout last season and to everyone that attended our recent End of Season Shindig.

It was great to see so many down and to see some familiar faces, some that hadn’t been seen for a while. Hopefully a top night was had by all and we look forward to many to come.

Huge congratulations to all trophy winners, both awarded by the club and the league 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

We’ll keep you all updated on future events to come and plans for the new season so keep your eyes peeled 👀

It is with a great sadness that we have to inform members that, on Monday, Alpha Badminton lost one of its extended family; Janet Beardmore

Although Janet played her most recent badminton for Shawclough, she was a deeply valued member of Alpha for over 20 years; as player, captain and committee member.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Beardmore family.

A very big thank you to everyone who took part in and supported last night’s inaugural Bob Heaton Memorial Tournament.

A fine night was had by all, with lots of good and fun badminton being played.

A big congratulations to the 4 finalists and many thanks to the organising committee, we look forward to holding the competition on the first Monday in September every year.

Just a little reminder that we only have 2 Club Nights before the start of the new season and teams need to be organised so it’d be great to see as many members as possible next Monday at 8 o’clock.

It is with a great sadness that yesterday, surrounded by his family, Alpha Badminton Club lost one of its founder members, Bob Heaton.

Bob will be sadly missed, not only by his beloved club, but by the wider badminton community, including the Rochdale junior club, which over the years brought through many young players.

Although Bob has left us, his wit and charm will be remembered with much affection and respect by all who knew him.

Funeral Details will be circulated in due course.
