Well, you’re in luck! Because tomorrow Saturday 16th March I’m hosting a gear adjustment and maintenance demo / talk / workshop at The Bike Bay in Whitwell.

11am start but get here early and grab refreshments next door in Emily’s Tea Shop. Book on .co.uk or give me a call at our Bendish workshop before 5pm today or just turn up at The Bike Bay on Saturday.

Knowledge is power and everyday is a school day!
Plus these are always good fun! Come with questions or just absorb some wisdom.

We also stock a range of cleaners and brushes as well as and tools so if you need any bits for the workshop I’m sure I can help 😉

Here’s a quick reminder that this Saturday 16th March we have our gears adjustment and maintenance demonstration / talk down at The Bike Bay here in Whitwell (next door to the legendary Emily’s Tea Shop).

It starts at 11am and you can book on our website www.appscycleworks.co.uk , give me a call at Apps Cycle Works in Bendish (01438 871395) or just turn up on Saturday at the bike bay.

The tool pictured is my cassette cleaning brush. This little beauty allows me to get in between the sprockets when cleaning all the filth and muck out of your rear cassettes.

Obviously on this occasion I’ve opted to take it off the wheel and give it a scrub in the parts cleaner. You can also use the brush with the bike fully assembled and during a normal everyday clean. And it is almost everyday this time of year isn’t it? (Isn’t it???)

If you need some tips and tricks to help you clean and maintain as well as setup and adjust your bicycle gear systems then please come along on Saturday- I’d love to see you there. Bring any questions you might have or ask below in the comments.

Join me this Sunday 3rd March for our monthly off road ride.

10:00am start from The Bike Bay / Emily’s Tea Shop. Guaranteed to be dry and sunny, get your factor 40 on and definitely wear new white kit. *

We’ll be back for tea and cake at the shop for midday opening.

*For those that came last month I plan to do a similar route as it might be passable despite the wettest feb on record doing its best to stop us. It’s mostly gravel type paths with a few little road sections. Never a race- always casual and non serious. Designed to be a fun ride for whoever wants to come along.

Bike maintenance demo/talks are back on at The Bike Bay starting 11am this Saturday 13th Jan with Bike Cleaning and Basic maintenance.
Learn bike cleaning and maintenance tips, tricks and techniques that will save you time and money as well as keep your bike running well this winter.

Emily’s Tea Shop Christmas Fayre is today from 2-6pm !!

Here’s what to expect:
Chestnuts roasting, fire blazing, choirs singing & mulled wine bubbling! We also have some festive stalls & lots of homemade Christmas treats. Saturday 2nd December 2pm-6pm. 🌲🎅☕️🍪⭐️ More details nearer the time.

And of course The Bike Bay will be open selling all sorts of cycling Christmas stocking fillers and gifts. We also have our beautiful handmade chain and sprocket tree decorations and a couple of Wera tools advent calendars left!

Pop over this afternoon and get Christmassy!

This Saturday 5th August join us at The Bike Bay in Whitwell for a Gear adjustment and maintenance talk / demonstration.

11am start , £10 per person (£8 advanced booking).

Simon will be discussing adjustment, setup, maintenance and fault finding/ correction on many different types of bicycle gear systems.

The bulk of the information will be on fairly standard derailleur gear systems as found on most road, mtb, hybrid and kids bikes. We will also talk about hub gears, electronic shifting and other less common items.

Feel free to let me know in advance if you have any topics you’d like covered and I’ll try - you can also ask any questions on the day.

The talk will take place at The Bike Bay in Whitwell next door to Emily’s Tea Shop sg4 8BN . If driving please park in the car park area before stables (turn in from the b651). You can find The Bike Bay on google maps.
