🏐ESTOVER YOUTH LEAGUE RESULTS🏐
The U16’s put in a fantastic performance this week, despite being short on players and needing to borrow three U14’s. A huge thank you to the younger players for stepping up and contributing so positively to the game.
From the first whistle, the team worked hard to maintain possession and showed great composure throughout. They listened carefully to the coaching points around ball placement and avoiding panic after turnovers, which helped them stay in the lead against a strong opposition.
The defence worked tirelessly all match, applying constant pressure, securing numerous interceptions, and making the opposition shooters work incredibly hard for every goal.
Through the midcourt, the players were outstanding, bringing the ball down the court safely, always offering support options, and delivering some beautiful feeds into the shooting circle.
The shooters worked brilliantly together, continually offering and re-offering to create space and work the ball closer to the post. Their movement and teamwork resulted in some excellent passages of play and some lovely shots being converted under pressure.
Unfortunately, the game ended in a narrow 27–29 loss, but the scoreline reflected just how competitive the match was. It was a real nail-biter from start to finish and a fantastic game for everyone watching. The effort, teamwork, and determination shown by the entire squad should make them incredibly proud, and there are plenty of positives to take into the next game.
