Whittlesey Warriors Netball Club Founded in 2010, we are Whittlesey Warriors Netball Club! ✨💗💪🏻

Whittlesey Warriors is a club for young girls and women to enjoy and play netball, we offer training sessions on Monday's for all abilities and Tuesday's for our experienced players, all coached by our qualified sport coaches and trained umpires. We have been a successfully running club since 2010 with over 100 members, we have 4 adult teams and 4 junior teams all who participate in league tournaments and friendly leagues.

🏐CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY PREM LEAGUE RESULTS🏐

Warriors Prem v Witches✨

Warriors Prem travelled over to Netherhall on a very wet Sunday to play our friends at Witches in the first game of the Cambridgeshire County Premier League.

A couple of passing errors in the opening minutes saw us go 0–3 down, but team morale remained high. The positive attitude on court lifted everyone, and we quickly worked our way back to level the score.
The defence worked tirelessly to put pressure on the ball and disrupt the strong Witches GS.💪🏻

In the last quarter, Georgia moved to GS to help steady the attack and encourage the team to work the ball patiently to goal. However, Witches were quick to capitalise on any mistakes, and unfortunately we allowed the scoreline to slip away.
Witches came away with the win, 44–31.

Despite the result, this was an incredible effort from the whole team, with many new combinations and three of our lovely U16s stepping up. It was also a much-improved scoreline compared with the same fixture last season.💪🏻

A massive shout-out to Lucy, who worked tirelessly in defence, taking numerous well-timed intercepts, supporting the ball through court and giving 100% for the entire 60 minutes. An outstanding performance from start to finish — and deservedly taking all three Player of the Match awards!

U15 performance vs Wodson Park✨

It was the teams first run out today since summer and with some players returning from injury and some players debuts we knew it would take some time to settle on court. Wodson took to court hard and with incredible shooting accuracy took a strong lead.

We regrouped and spoke about shortening our passes as we adjusted to each other, focusing on coming infront of our players and doing our work early and the girls came out fighting second half. A really impressive show from every single player on court. Defence shut down their attack multiple times with some incredible deflections and interceptions, attack had some great steady play through court and shooters shot over longer defending arms. Score ended 64-25 to Wodson. The score in the second half does not reflect the impressive comeback of the team and how well they pushed through! Incredible work! 🩷🖤

We take our learnings back into training with us ready for our next fixtures!

🩷🖤Warriors Presentation Event - 5th September 2026

Last Saturday the fundraising team completely transformed the Whittlesey Indoor Bowls Club- turning everything pink and black! A massive thank you to them for their hospitality and also for adding the ceiling lights, event drapes and having a pink setting on their lights 😂

It was another wonderful evening celebrating all the club's achievements over the past year - and again there was a great deal for us to be proud of.

Michelle Dunmore, our Chair, opened both presentations saying just how proud she is of our club, our players, volunteers, coaches, umpires and supporters.

During the event our amazing Junior Head Coach Lou Riley reflected on all the achievements from our Junior section and Alice Brazier, our fantastic Senior Coach, covered all the Seniors successes.

This past year the club has been involved with JDG, WNL, EYL, ERYL and CPNL. As well as taking part in various tournaments and local events. From supporting Comic Relief, Big Bash, Doddington Festival, holding our own Family Tournament and a PJ training night. Reflecting on all we have delivered confirmed why we have all been so busy, but also how rewarding the last 12 month have been.

We also took the time to thank all the amazing volunteers that work tirelessly behind the scenes keeping the club running, supporting our players and those that helped put this brilliant event together. 🫶🏻

We introduced our Hero Awards and these were presented to the following individuals.

What a fantastic way to start the winter season! Warriors 2 came together brilliantly for their first game as a new team, showing great teamwork, determination and a real willingness to work for each other.

There was some lovely passing throughout the game, with players making themselves available and moving the ball quickly around the court. Our attacking players worked hard to create space, with some strong holds and feeds into the circle, while our shooters did a fantastic job of converting those opportunities.

Defensively, we were just as strong. There were some brilliant interceptions and strong hands over the ball, with the team working together to put pressure on the opposition and win possession back.

The team continued to work hard right through to the final whistle.

A huge well done to everyone. For a new team playing their first game together, there was so much to be proud of. The teamwork, effort and positive attitude were brilliant to see, and we’re really excited to see what this group can achieve as the season goes on.

🏐SENIOR WISBECH NETBALL LEAGUE RESULTS🏐

Warriors 3’s played their first winter league match in Division 2 tonight against Fireflies over at Wisbech.

The match started at a fast pace, with both teams showing strong determination and excellent teamwork. From the first whistle, Warriors worked hard to maintain possession and create scoring opportunities.

We defended well and moved the ball confidently through the court. Our shooters took their opportunities, while the centre and attacking players worked effectively to create space. At times mid court were in the same space but team talks at quarter times helped motivate each other giving advice to our team mates.

Overall, it was an enjoyable and competitive game but with the opposition being the stronger and taller team.

UPOM went to Brooke for her play as C/WA. Well done Brooke - well deserved. 🏆

Warriors 4 played their first game today. Most of the team hadn’t played together in a full game, so we spent the time on court looking at new combos, developing set plays and working together. The team worked hard despite tough, established opposition and many adapted to playing out of position.

After the second quarter we were down by 8 goals, but dug deep and worked to bring the loss down to only 3 goals.

A fantastic score line for our first game, well played! Excited to see what this season brings🩷🏐🖤

They showed what they are made of by winning every quarter.

Now they’re all fuelled up and ready for the day ahead at the U16 Regional Qualifying! 💪🔥
