Rockcliff Rugby Club Everyone welcome! Rugby for all from the age of 5. Minis,Juniors, Senior Women and Men, touch rugby

We are a traditional rugby club founded in `1887 with a thriving mini/junior/girls sections, three senior male teams and one senior female team. We have a very popular and newly refurbished function room that is available to hire for a range of functions. We can cater for any event from funeral wakes to weddings and birthdays to christenings.

Yesterday, WB Rockcliff continued their pre-season preparations with an impressive 43–7 victory over Washington.

It was a memorable afternoon for a number of players making their senior debuts, including Ben Shardlow, who had the brilliant experience of taking to the pitch alongside his dad, Drew.

Rockcliff ran in seven tries, with two each for Billy Bloomfield and Kieran Tweedy, plus scores from Evan Bradford, Matty Brister and Matt Ginger.

Congratulations to Sam Owens who was awarded Man of the Match!

Huge thank you to Washington for coming down!

Next up, we welcome Acklam for another pre-season friendly. This time it’s a double header with both the 1st and 2nd XV taking to the field, on Saturday 12th September!

Tomorrow, the WBR Men’s XV take on Washington in a pre-season friendly at Hillheads — KO 2pm!

The lads are looking strong, with a full squad packed with talent and are ready to put everything they’ve worked on during pre-season into practice. After the defeat to Darlington, they’ll be looking to bounce back in style and get the win!

The Clubhouse is open from 12pm, so come down, grab a drink, enjoy the atmosphere and get behind the lads from the sideline! Your support makes a difference.

Whitley Bay Rockliff v Washington RFC
Saturday 5th September - KO 2pm

We’re really excited that after having to call off our pre-season fixture against Washington, we’ve managed to reschedule a match THIS Saturday 5th September with a 2pm KO down at Hillheads!

A great opportunity to put more pre-season training in to action with some important lessons learned from our first pre-season defeat against Darlington.

The Clubhouse will be open from midday, so let’s get behind the lads on Saturday on the side lines and bring home a win!
