🕷️ 🎃 A HALLOWEEN DOUBLE… AND NO TRICKS, JUST TREATS FOR ROCKCLIFF 🎃 🕷️

It was a real thriller of a Saturday for Whitley Bay Rockcliff, and there were no horror stories today as both senior sides secured victories against Westoe RFC!

An outstanding second-half performance at home saw the 1st XV take control and secure a brilliant win over Westoe’s 1st XV. A fantastic team effort from start to finish, with Jack Bland taking home Man of the Match for his efforts.

The Vikings took a trip South of the Tyne and put on a frighteningly good display, crossing the line with nine tries against a very physical Westoe 2nd XV!

A strong performance for every player but special mention has to go to Jonny Beattie, who marked his debut with a hat-trick, and taking man of the match! There were also senior debuts for Ashton and Dylan, making it an extra-special day for the squad.

Todays 2nd XV game also had a strong family feel - Ben and Drew Shardlow combined for a fantastic father-son try, while Ashton got to share the pitch with his dad, John, on his senior debut. Moments like these are what rugby is all about!

Two teams, two wins, and plenty of treats for the club.

Congratulations to both teams on a fantastic day’s rugby!

Thanks also has to go to Westoe for their hospitality to the Vikings and for a great game of rugby at Hillheads!

Saturday sees our 1st XV back in action at Hillheads, hosting Westoe 1st XV, while the mighty Vikings make the trip away to face Westoe 2nd XV in their first Candy 1 league fixture of the year. Two big fixtures, plenty at stake and hopefully no scary surprises along the way!
