🤽♂️The Water Safety Code
💙Stop and Think
Before entering the water, look for warning signs and hazards like hidden currents, cold water shock, and uneven depths. Always swim in safe, lifeguarded areas where possible
💚Stay Together
Never go near water alone. Swim with friends or family, supervise children closely, and let someone know where you are going
💛Call 999
In an emergency, dial 999 (or 112 for the Coastguard). Do not jump into the water to save someone; instead, look for public rescue equipment or throw them something that floats
🧡Float
If you fall into cold or deep water unexpectedly, fight the urge to panic or swim. Lean back, extend your arms and legs, and gently float until you can catch your breath and call for help
