UK SCHOOL GAMES - UP THE HAWKS! 🦅💜🦅

What an unbelievable two days of Athletics action at the UK School Games in Loughborough.

A massive Well Done and Congratulations to Alexa Hastie and Ronan Douglass, who were part of the very talented Northern Hawks team, who all did outstanding against the best teams in the UK!

Day 1
● Alexa ran a storming 400m leg in the 4x400m to get them from 3rd into 2nd, which is where the Northern Hawks finished, gaining the 8 Points!
● Ronan ran an amazing 200m to finish 3rd with his first Sub 22s time, but unfortunately, it was wind illegal, but still gained 6 Points
● The performances from Alexa and Ronan, alongside their incredible teammates, helped qualify the Northern Hawks to the UK School Games A Final!!!

Day 2 - A Final!
● Alexa ran an even better 400m leg in the 4x400m from the previous day to get them from 4th into 2nd, with the team finishing in 3rd and claiming 6 Points
● Ronan ran an outstanding equal PB and Club Record to claim the win and 10 Points for the Northern Hawks!
● Another fantastic day of performances from all the Northern Hawks, which resulted in an incredible 5th place finish in the A Final!

It was such a fantastic experience and opportunity for them to be involved with, and we know just how much they've enjoyed it, which is a reward for all of the hardwork from every athlete there at the School Games

UP THE HAWKS! 🦅💜🦅

Thank You to everyone who made this amazing event happen!

NATIONALS

Across the weekend, we had 7 Athletes competing at the U16 and U18 National Championships in Bedford after gaining Entry Standard during the Outdoor Season.

Just to be there is such a fantastic achievement and they all performed incredibly well. They all made sure to represent NSP in the best possible way and be an inspiration to many at NSP. Well Done to all!

• Alexa Hastie - 400m. Returning to Nationals for the 2nd time and she had a stunning weekend. Alexa auto qualified through the Heat and Semi (PB), then in the Final, she finished 7th Overall and 4th first Year. She wasn't meant to make the Semis based off PBs, so what an achievement this is!

• Charlie Furness - 800m. Returning to Nationals for the 3rd time and he secured his best finish. He ran very well, but unfortunately just missed out on qualification to the final with a 13th Overall finish.

• Eli Adams - High Jump. Just returning from the U18 Europeans in Italy and he backed this up with the National Title in the U18M High Jump.🥇

• Jamie Howes - 400m Hurdles. Returning to Nationals for the 2nd time and he outdid his previous position. Ran a great race in the 400mH to Finish 17th Overall and 3rd U17M.

• Lauryn Walton - 300m Hurdles. Returning to Nationals for the 3rd time and just missing out on the Semis. She ran close to her PB, but just missed out on the Semis with 17th Overall in an event that's new to her for this season.

• Noah Smith - 110m Hurdles. Making his Nationals Debut. Unfortunately, not the clean race he'd have wanted, as he hit a couple of Hurdles and lost momentum. However, he's done exceptionally well to make his debut and finish 22nd Overall (6th U17M) as well as gaining plenty of experience.

• Ronan Douglass - 100m & 200m. Returning to Nationals for the 4th time, but this time in the 100m and 200m. He had a slight injury beforehand, so had missed two weeks of training, but he was still extremely close to PBs in both events. Unfortunately, he just missed out on Semis for both. Resulting in a 24th (9th U17M) for the 100m and 26th (10th U17M) for the 200m.

Thank You to all the Officials and Volunteers who made this event happen!

NEYDL Division 1 Champions 2026 🏆

The club has 13 out of the 32 athletes representing the Northumberland team at English Schools, which is a record number for the club and a testament to all the hard work and commitment from the Athletes, as well as their Coaches and their Parents.
