Congratulations to Danny Head for winning the Thomson Cup after beating Graeme 'Graeme' Crichton in the final. Obviously married life is suiting Danny very well and I'm sure the ginger ninjas at home will be very proud of their dad today.

Well done Danny and well done Graeme for managing to pull your face into something resembling a grimace.

Due to unforeseen circumstances our clubhouse will be closed today 20th June. The course remains open and visitors can make payment at our honesty box in the clubhouse lobby. The clubhouse will reopen tomorrow .

A huge congratulations to Fraser Hackett for absolutely romping to victory in yesterday's Ballantyne Cup with a fantastic net score 8-under 55. Lots more to come from this young player, that's for sure.

And it's a double celebration for Fraser with today being his 16th birthday - a very happy birthday from all at the club.

Game starts at 11pm and as ever, you need to either be a member or get signed in by one. Everyone out within half an hour of the final whistle please and thank you.

With a very successful Seniors Open now behind us, it's time to start looking forward to our Gents Open. Last years was very well attended and most people have hopefully recovered sufficiently to consider doing it all again.

£30 for two days of golf is incredible value, and this year we're also offering a warm-up round on the Friday for an additional £10 (Friday tee times from 11am onwards).

Our first major Open of the year is upon us!

This weekend is our Seniors Open tournament, open to all Ladies & Gentlemen golfers over the age of 50 on the day. A friendly format sees the winner chosen from the best 18-hole stableford score of the weekend. This cuts some slack for those watching the football overnight - clubhouse closing at 7pm Saturday before reopening at 11pm coz we all need to go home for a shower and a change of socks at some point!

At £25 for two rounds of golf this represents amazing value and with the forecast looking decent, it should be a fantastic couple of days.
