Whitchurch Badminton Club

Whitchurch Badminton Club runs every Tuesday night throughout the year (except for bank holidays/some school closures).

We play at Sir John Talbot's School, Prees Rd, Whitchurch SY13 2BY from 8pm until 10pm using feather shuttles.

The club has a mix of improvers and league players and welcomes prospective new and returning players. Please message for further details.

We have mixed, ladies and mens teams playing in the Shropshire league.

The club is a friendly and sociable place to play. After each session players meet at the local pub for a drink and chat.

Summer club is now underway!

Currently just £5 for two hours with feather shuttles.

Visitors very welcome - as are club members who've not been down for a while 😉 (you know who you are! X)

Last night we held a fun handicapped mini tournament at the club which we hopefully will repeat over the next few weeks.

For the next few weeks the club is back to normal with a match on 2 courts and 2 courts for club play. There's very little waiting out time so if you haven't been down lately please come for some games.

** Update : tomorrow's mens A match against Shifnal has been cancelled so full club night for 12th April **

In May we start summer club which is £5 per session at the moment with 2 courts available. This represents amazing value for money in a hall with great facilities and with the club providing feather shuttles which are going up in price!

It would be great to see a really busy summer club. We've had that in previous years and have been able to secure additional courts usually if there are enough players down.

So if you're an existing club member who hasn't been down for ages then we'd love to see you back. Equally, if you've been down for a couple of sessions to try things out then the pay-as-you-go summer club is ideal !

Then the season finishes, in May we go down to 2 courts for the summer, paying £5/night.

Let’s hope we all get through this ok. Staying fit is going to be important for our physical and mental wellbeing so why not explore other fitness ideas or ways to practice badminton basics at home? Sadly most of us won’t have a double garage with a vaulted ceiling for conversion into a covert private indoor court 😂🏸
