Good news in Andover.

Work is starting today on a new accessible route at Charlton Lakes 👷‍♀️🌿

The project will create a fully connected, three-metre-wide path around the playing fields at Charlton Leisure Centre, making it easier for people to walk, run, cycle and use wheeled access all year round.

Once complete, the new surface will help tackle muddy conditions in winter and improve access for pushchairs, wheelchairs and mobility aids. It will also link key areas of the site, including existing paths and Foxcotte Bridge.

Work will be carried out in sections, with the site remaining open throughout. A revised route will be in place for parkrun while construction is ongoing.

📅 The project is expected to be completed by autumn 2026.
