Today we had our annual Pete Jackson’s memorial match on the Thames at Clifton hampden 24 fished raising money for dementia uk with lack of flow it was going but hard no big showing at all it was very close
1st Alan gee with 9lb 11oz
2nd Michael dalziel with 9lb 3oz
3rd nobby normington with 7lb 9oz

Big thank you to Tony gee for allowing us to us the water and thank you to Jo Sproate for helping with weighing and the raffle and thanks to Drennan international and ace tackle and bait for providing the raffle prizes and we managed to raise a massive £505 for the charity

Another great working party last night (sadly no photos ) great to have new members come down help and learn about the river there will be another one on Wednesday 9th from 5pm meet at Wheatley bridge by the harvester no tools required as these will be supplied if you have waders ( chest or thigh ) please bring them look forward to meeting some of the members

Second match of the season was at Clifton on the river . Conditions extremely hot with most of the anglers in the shade . Thankfully . Big fish were absent , so it was small fish only . With 20 or so boats that’s challenging trying to put a bag together. Top weight on the day was Tony Gee on permanent peg 4 with 5.11.8 three goer roach on the h**p plus numerous small dace / bottle top skimmers / mostly caught on caster . 2nd Paul Bowers with 4.5.0 from permanent peg 8 mostly small chublets / dace / and odd roach .
3rd Kev Smith on permanent peg 3 with 3.7.0 Kevin caught mainly small dace and roach on the pole and whip but his bigger roach he hooked we taken by a pike .
Next match is July 6th Wheatley bridge 8 am draw . If you fancy joining us you will be most welcome. Come and enjoy the day . Most of the guys will give you tips on how and where to fish . That will help you improve your angling skills hope to see you there .

This Wednesday 11th of June from 4pm till 9pm we be continuing the work started at Wheatley bridge down stream if you would like to come and help all are welcome. The committee will be present to answer any question share knowledge and with over 300 years experience of the water there is not much these guys don’t know about the water
