Busy morning for the boys, too much to make a note of and admins memory is rubbish!

A few highlights, Tom Wildblood getting a hat-trick and turning into prime R9 for his 2nd. Reece Mowlam and Connor Mancini on fire 🔥Captain Scott Jordan in a 1v1 and hitting it straight at the keeper. Solid morning 👌

Well played to The Rock Rebels, after a few dropouts still played until the end and never stopped trying. All the best for your season lads!

Phoenix started strong and found themselves an early lead. We had a good amount of chances but just couldn't find the back of the net. We did equalise through a well worked corner where Reece Mowlam found Jack Buckland in the box to put away a header. We didn't stay level too long though as the Phoenix boys broke on the counter to see them go in with the lead at half time.

We started the second half considerably better and after a couple of chances Reece Mowlam again found Jack Buckland who was happy to put away his 2nd of the game. We continued to control the game and after a good spell of possession Tommy Harris whipped one over the top for Reece Mowlam to run onto and tuck neatly into the bottom left. We weren't done there though after a surging run from Alex Francis saw him beat his man and square the ball to an eager Tom Wildblood who anticipated the play well and fired it home for his first goal for the Badgers!

A good team performance against a tough Phoenix opposition. Best of luck for the season ahead! 🦡

Great run out for the boys against a front footed Spa side!

The old adage, a game of two halves. We didn't look at it in the first half, we struggled to adapt to the game. Ben Thickett in goal did make some brilliant saves to keep it respectable however Spas experience and pace meant they went in at the break with a considerable lead.

A stern talking to and a tactical change from the gaffer meant we came out swinging in the second half and seriously tested our opposition. The lads showed that we can go deep into games and still keep the intensity high. Drawing the second half 1-1.

Great learning opportunity against an always impressive Spa side! Thanks lads, hope your season goes well!

🦡⚽MATCH RESULT⚽🦡

A good run-out for the boys this morning in pretty hard conditions with the heat!

We started off well with some good pressure which caused an error at the back for Atlas putting us 1 up. Soon after we started playing the football we are used and a great bit of play saw Owen Hall find Connor Mancini at the back post who laid it off for Jack Buckland to score an absolute thunderbolt!

2nd half after a lot of changes we didn't start the best and a nice bit of play from the Atlas boys saw them with a 1 v 1 chance which they put away well. We gathered ourselves together and stuck to the plan and some good play saw Buckers find Reece Mowlam in the box to slot away for 3. Next another good pattern of play saw Archie Markwell provide a great ball in behind for Reece to run on to and tuck away for the 4th. Atlas hit back next after we gave away a penalty which they converted well. Lastly Captain Scott Jordan found a bit of space to pick his pass which Reece Mowlam was happy to run on to and finish nicely for his Hat-trick.

Great bit of fitness on a hot sunny morning, many thanks to the Atlas boys for providing a fresh challenge for the lads. Kept us on our toes and definitely made us work for it! 💪🦡

A decent performance from the lads sees us take the win in our first game back, after a long break.

Some decent football played from the boys today, conditions made it difficult to get the ball down and play our style, but still a great opportunity to brush the rust off and get good minutes into the legs.

The Badgers controlled the game well and never really came under threat. We had plenty of chances of our own but only found the back of the net once after a Lee Scrivin through ball found Archie Markwell in plenty of space to get the job done. Onto the next one!

Well played The Rock FC and good luck for the upcoming season 🤝
