422 sailors have been competing in the EurILCA IlCA4 European Championships in Murcia, Spain.

There have been some great performances by the Brits.

After 3 days of fleet racing and a medal race, the winners of the 2026 RYA Youth Nationals have been crowned. In the

ILCA6 it was a totally dominant display by U17 sailor Toby Waggett🥇 winning by a staggering margin of 42 points after just 8 races. 2nd overall Ethan Rhodes🥈 is also U17, another very accomplished display heading off the older U19 sailors.

Racing was a lot closer in the ILCA6♦️ with Jessica Powell🥇(U17) holding off a strong challenge from Katherine Gunn🥈.

The smaller ILCA7 didn’t need a Medal race, Sam Grayton🥇 won overall, with Leo Yates🥈 second overall and first Youth U19.

An unsettled wind in Hayling Bay, but another great day of racing on Day 3 of the RYA Youth Nationals.

The cream is rising to the top with 7 races completed by the ILCA6 and 8 races for the ILCA7s. Toby Waggett has an outstanding lead over the rest of his ILCA6 competitors, while it is much closer for the ILCA6♦️ with Jessica Powell leading. In the ILCA7 Leo Yates and Sam Grayton are level on points.

Day 2 of the RYA Youth Nationals was sailed in lighter winds. The ILCA6 Fleets have completed 5 races, the ILCA7s have had 6.

Day 1 of the RYA Youth National Championships for the ILCA Classes at Hayling Island had a feeling of deja-vu about it. The ILCA’s were sailing alongside the 420s, a blast back to the past, similar to the format of the 80’s and 90’s.

With epic conditions in the Bay, the schedule kicked off with two races.

The 2026 U21 Worlds came to a close in Lanzarote over the weekend. It was another dominant display by the Italian sailors who took the top of the podium in all three categories.

Good luck to the 12 GBR ILCA sailors competing in the U21 World Championships in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. Racing starts today in the ILCA6 with 52 entries (3🇬🇧) and the ILCA7 with 97 entries (9🇬🇧).
