I genuinely think it’s so important that we make exercise fun, especially for young people. It’s such a key developmental stage for building core memories, confidence, and habits that often shape the principles we carry into adulthood.
That’s why whenever I coach younger age groups, I want sessions to be full of energy, encouragement, and plenty of laughs. I want them to see exercise as somewhere they want to come back to, not something they feel forced into.
What they probably don’t realise at the time is that this is how consistency is built. Positive experiences around movement create healthy habits, confidence, friendships, and a better relationship with exercise that can stay with them for life.
For me, it’s never just about fitness. It’s about creating an environment where young people can move, grow, enjoy themselves, and leave feeling better than when they walked in.
