Well that was one seriously tough week. As Deane Barker said on a recent podcast “you pour everything into it... when it doesn’t work, it’s just a vacuum”, used in a very different context but the emotions are the same. You dedicate your life to this sport and when it doesn’t go your way, it feels like you’ve lost everything and in the moment, you don’t know which way is up.

The lack of photos from palma explains how it ended for us. We took the decision after 3 days of racing to take some time out to reset and analyse the racing so that we were in a better position for the racing in Hyeres which starts the week after next.

After what felt like the perfect build up with a great month of training finished off with a strong practice regatta, something didn’t click on race day and after a few days of reflection and good conversations we have put together some actionable steps that will hopefully put us in good stead for Hyeres 👍🏻

It’s not the start to our racing season we wanted but it’s the one we’ve got and we’ll come back stronger because of it. Thank you to all the kind messages and continued support 💪🏼

Great end to our first training camp out in Palma finishing 9th overall at the MSC regatta 👍

It definitely felt good to get back in the groove after a disrupted final camp in Lanzarote with illness. Now it's time for a week of rest and recovery before we head back out for our final camp before the main event at the start of April ✅

Some serious faces going on here!

In all honesty, it was a tough end to our time out in lanzarote racing at the international regatta. Two days of racing with some great moments however we struggled to find our feet to convert all our good mark roundings into strong results. Lingering illness on Dans part (which meant he had to come out a week late) lead to a short and rushed preparation meaning we weren’t in full form for the raving. Nevertheless, we pushed through for the 2 days and still took some great lessons from the regatta. It’s now time to get back to full fitness and come into our first palma camp hungry for it. We know what we need to do and now it’s about getting out there and getting the job done ✅

Ended up finishing 29th overall at the World Championships this year. It was not the result we were after and we were gutted to have not made gold fleet but we learnt from our mistakes and finished off the week with some strong racing to move up the board. It’s now time for a bit of time off to reflect and plan the next few months of training. We will come back stronger! 💪🏼

Amazing to see pushing the boundaries when it comes to sustainability and their products. The new partnership with showcases the 8KO Infinite 50% Recycled Lenses! ♻️

Last week we teamed up with other ambassadors to complete a river clean down on the Thames as part of the new partnership. We covered just small section of the riverbed in Hammersmith and came away with over 40 bags of rubbish. It just goes to show whilst this is a huge step in the right direction, we all need to do more to save our rivers and oceans 🌊

Disappointed is an understatement. Currently sat in 36th overall after 3 days of qualifying at the European Championships meaning we’ll be in silver fleet for the rest do the week. There’s no excuses, we just couldn’t seem to make it click over the past few days. Whilst it’s not ideal nor what we wanted, we’ll work hard to finish strong by climbing to the top of silver. 💪🏼

Big thanks to everyone’s continued support 🙏🏻

Feels good to be out training at the Olympic venue. The weather has been good to us and the conditions have been glamor! 👌🏻

Another week out here until we head home for a training block back in Weymouth over June on the new boat 🤩

Question is, what should we call the new vessel?? Let us know what you think in the comments?! 🧐
