Please note the Sports Centre will be closed tomorrow due to the sports hall being used for NHS Vaccination Clinics.

Thank you for your understanding.

In response to the recent Meningitis B cluster identified in Weymouth schools, and working closely with Public Health England, Coastland College will be vaccinating its eligible students tomorrow at the Weymouth Campus.

Our role as an educational institution is to facilitate PHE’s request by providing suitable spaces for treatment. We are not responsible for offering medical advice or responding to enquiries about Meningitis B.

In the meantime, it is important that we continue to promote normal standards of hygiene among staff and students to help minimise the risk of spread. This includes regular handwashing, using tissues when sneezing, and general good hygiene practices.

Liam is a regular user of the fitness suite and we wish him all the luck! Check out his story below

We're celebrating the achievement of long-serving lecturer Liam Platten, who has been selected to represent Team GB at the Triathlon Middle Distance European Championships this summer. 🇬🇧🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

For 24 years, Liam has taught English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) at our Weymouth Campus and will be heading to Banyoles, Spain on 19th July to compete at an international level. Qualifying through events across the UK, Liam didn’t just meet the standard, he exceeded it, finishing within 10% of the winner in his category! 💪🇪🇸

Balancing teaching with up to 20 hours of training a week, Liam credits triathlon with supporting both his physical fitness and mental wellbeing, often even using training time to plan his ESOL lessons!
