🏏 An excellent showcase for our first-ever cricket outing, falling just two runs short as Walton Park Cricket Club finished on 140/5 and Wetherby RUFC XI replied with 138/9.

A huge thank you to Walton Park Cricket Club for hosting us. Despite several LBWs mysteriously going missing, wides being reclassified as “close enough” and a few lads trying their best Clicky Ponting impression, we still couldn’t quite seal the victory.

Claims that the umpire was on our side are entirely accurate… 😂

Here’s to what we hope will become a regular fixture during our off-season. 🏏🏉

Following the RFU’s decision to postpone the start of the 2026/27 season, our updated fixtures are now confirmed.

Both our 1st XV and 2nd XV will now kick off their League campaigns on Saturday 26th September.

With preseason well underway we’re proud to unveil the coaching group leading our players through the 2026/27 season.

🔴 Evan Woodworth - Director of Rugby - ‘Coach’ stays for another and looks to see if he can add another promotion to his tally 👀
⚪️ Steve Hoather - Forwards Player Coach - looking to put his expertise into a coaching role this year and develop the next generation of moustache’s
🔴 Jonny Day - Defensive Player Coach - Jonny looks to lead the group focusing around defence
⚪️ Matt Embleton - Backs Assistant Coach - Looking to bring his wealth of experience from Rugby League into our backline focusing on running line and skills
🔴 Frazer Land - Fitness Coach - there’s a reason the old pit bull is steal running around and getting Man of the Match awards at 46 years old

With a wealth of experience across multiple facets of the game, the team is committed to creating an environment where players can develop, compete and thrive both on and off the pitch.
