🏆 BILL KINSEY CUP 2026 🏆
Sunday 13 September

A great afternoon of bowls brought our outdoor season to a close, with 21 players taking part in the Bill Kinsey Cup.

🥇 Congratulations to Peter Leaton & Jayne Davis, who finished top with 26 shots for, 10 against and an excellent +16 shot difference.

The final results were:

Keith Mansbridge & Gill Day/Colin Lake — 16–17 (-1)
Karen Hiles & Jim Millar — 16–18 (-2)
Terry Perks & Neil Hillsdon — 14–21 (-7)
Myra Landsburgh & Alistair Bradley — 10–21 (-11)
Allan Riddick & Mick Murphy/Gill Day — 10–23 (-13)

With an odd number of players, Gill Day was originally due to share the sets with Colin Lake. During the afternoon Mick began to feel unwell in the heat and had to stand down, so Gill stepped in and ended up playing in two pairs. Thankfully, after a drink and a rest in the shade, Mick was fine.

After a very wet morning, the weather improved considerably and we were able to enjoy the whole afternoon in bright sunshine. ☀️

We finished with three Spiders and a raffle, helping to raise a fantastic £186 for the club. 💷

The club finals started the previous day when Colin Lake won the Senior 4 bowl singles. It was played earlier due to the amount of games that both Colin and Roger were in on the finals day.

Great bowling in the dry today despite the forecasts. Westward won the Gremlin trophy back 106 - 116 points. The whole day was a friendly social event whilst raising funds for the club
