North end suffered a defeat against Sporting Weston Colts last Tuesday evening in the last of our pre-season games

Sporting, with the younger and bigger squad, gave North End a tough test, which was ideal preparation for the upcoming season.

North end scored 3 on the night

Goals from James Averiss ⚽

An own goal from colts ⚽

And a goal from trialist Alex Mugisha ⚽
A pacey run down North Ends left, cutting into the box and slotting home with a lovely finish

Man of the match was our new signing Mirko Ceci, a great display at left back, full of energy, some lovely work on the ball, and always strong in the challenge.

Sporting were deserved winners on the night and we wish them luck for the upcoming season

Next up for Weston North End FC is Hutton Football Club vets, an away game to kick off the new season

North End came away with a hard fought 2-2 draw against Winscombe A.F.C Vets

Fair result in the end for both sides, a scrappy game, in searing heat, and a rock hard pitch! ☀️ Which made passing a hard task for both teams

First goal scored by Gigi Stoica, with a smart left foot finish from a through ball into the box. Goal scoring is a habit for G these days ⚽ 0-1

Winscombe then equalised midway through the first half ⚽ 1-1

Our second came from new signing Matt Lockyer 💪
Gigi with a low shot just outside the box, which the keeper parried, Matt with a well timed run into the oppostions box, neatly finished from the rebound ⚽ 1-2

Winscombe equalised in the last moments of the game, slotting home after a scramble outside our own box and the ball falling to the winscombe striker to slot home ⚽ 2-2

All in all, a good run out for the lads 😁

North End came away with the win, in a close game in Banwell on Tuesday evening 💪

2 goals from stand in captain James Averiss and a man of the match performance!
It was a land slide in the voting for Jimmy who was fantastic on the night 🏆

With a team full of trialist's, and many not playing together before, it was to their credit and the North End squad, that we came away with the win.

🚨MATCH REPORT🚨

In their first pre-season friendly of the 26/27 campaign, North End hosted Caerphilly Athletic Over 35s in a hotly contested 7-goal thriller at .

After some early ball dominance by Caerphilly, a cheap defensive error from the visitors allowed James Averiss to sweep home coolly with his…... right foot?? 😮
James has clearly been training his ‘chocolate leg’ after getting abused for its weakness every Wednesday night.

Caerphilly responded promptly with two well-worked goals - the latter a cute lob from a tight angle over a stranded Sergiu Condrea.

doesn’t have a roof or air conditioning, which meant a justified hydration break on the 20min mark 🚰
The break was greeted with loud booing from a record-breaking crowd (of about 15 people). In the second quarter North End’s lead was restored with a cool finish from debutant Stefan Bogdan. The game ebbed and flowed into half time, which saw the teams go in level.

In the searing heat ☀️ both teams were visibly fatigued in the second half and gaps began to appear all over the pitch. Caerphilly deservedly nudged ahead again, before Henry the Hoover took on 3 Caerphilly defenders, crashing a sublime effort off of the post… and into the grateful path of pre-season goal machine Rich Price. 3-3.

Caerphilly nicked a winner as the match wound down, but the performance showed encouraging signs for North End against strong opposition. Special mention to the efforts of the whole defence who were typically organised and tough to break down.

MoTM went to another debutant, Jazz Rawlins, who was physical and composed throughout. Well done Jazz, and welcome aboard 👏👏👏
