The Odd Balls are just normal folk that like to ride there bikes there is a big mix of riders from a 6'4 giant (the nicest chap you will ever meet) to ones that are just finding the love of cycling again. At Odd Balls Cycling we never take things too seriously except on ordering breakfast or on the morning of a challenge! We do like to organise a challenge once a year. Some of our challenges have
been:
John O'Groats to Lands End (9 x days)
Weston to Margate 242 miler (2 x days)
London to Paris (24h)
Everesting (Jason smith with our support along the way)
Margate to Weston (24h) October 2016 (Open Invite)
We manly have Jason to thank for the challenges he thinks them up and we end up going along (thanks MATE!)
For me getting out of bed is a challenge !! The club like to get out at least 3 times a week, two in the week normally Tuesday, Wednesday or a Thursday along with a long one on the Saturday morning. The weekday rides one day would be hill work and the other is flats with the Saturday a mixture of both. At Odd Balls Cycling we do have some rules of the road when out and about for safety of others and cycling etiquette.
#1 we ALWAYS stop at the top of a climb to let the others catch up. It's not fun being at the back, we've all started somewhere.
#2 Always stop for other cyclists when they are in need, even if it means giving your last tube.
#3 Respect the other road users and keep to the highway code.
#4 Never be ashamed to order the jumbo breakfast because we would have probably got the same :-)
#4 All ways say hi to fellow cyclist when passing, even though not many wave back. We are always looking for new members and challenges. Come and join the Odd Balls Cycling membership.
