As of midnight tonight we have a hosepipe ban.....take two!
As you may be aware, Bristol Water has introduced a Temporary Use Ban (hosepipe ban) across Somerset and the wider South West region due to ongoing drought conditions and pressure on water resources.
Customers have been told they must not use a hosepipe for activities such as watering gardens, washing cars, patios, paths and driveways, cleaning windows or filling swimming and paddling pools.
The ban comes into effect at 00.01 on 27th August 2026 and will remain in place until further notice.
In line with these restrictions, we ask all guests, berth holders and yard users to help reduce water consumption and observe the restrictions while at the marina.
What does this mean for leisure craft and vehicles?
During the ban, you must not use a hosepipe connected to mains water to clean the exterior of a private leisure vessel or vehicle. You may, however, use mains water from a bucket or watering can for cleaning where permitted.

Flushing engines where this is required for operation or maintenance
Cleaning the interior of a vessel's enclosed cabin
Cleaning to prevent the spread of invasive species

Washing down the exterior of private leisure vehicles and vessels using hosepipes

๐ง๐ซ From 00:01am on Thursday 27 August, a temporary hosepipe ban will come into effect across our supply area. This follows a drought order issued by the Environment Agency to help protect water resources in the River Severn.
Following months of hot, dry weather, significantly below-average rainfall, low river levels and continued high demand, our water resources are under increasing pressure. These conditions are affecting water supplies for people and the health of river systems and wildlife habitats.
We remain in drought. While rain is forecast this week, it won't make up for months of exceptionally dry weather. Our rivers and water resources need sustained rainfall to recover, so please keep using water wisely.
During the hosepipe ban, you must not use a hosepipe to:

๐ Clean your car, patio or driveway
๐ Fill a paddling pool, swimming pool or hot tub
๐ Clean walls, paths or windows
