This week we revisit the origins of the Westgate C.C. Triangular Trophy, a competition born from a fixture mix-up in 1980 when both London Cosmos and Luton International arrived at Hawtrey’s Field on the same afternoon!

The success of that impromptu day inspired the first official Triangular Trophy in 1981, with Westgate emerging as the inaugural winners. The tournament became a cherished annual tradition, played at Hawtrey’s Field until 1986, in Luton in 1987, back at Hawtrey’s in 1988, and in London in 1989. A planned tournament in 1990 never took place, although our friendship with Luton International continued through regular fixtures until 1994.

Pictured are the winners of the 1981 Triangular Trophy, a team that helped launch a memorable chapter in our club’s history.

After last weekend’s rain put a stop to the cricket, we’re hoping for better weather and a full day of action this Saturday! ☀️

🔹 1st XI travel to Rainham (Kent) CC to take on their 2nd XI

🔹 2nd XI host Sibton Park CC at Hawtreys Field
🕐 1:00 PM

We’d love to see plenty of support for both teams as they look to get back out on the field after the frustrating washout last weekend.

Shout out to our very own Dean Bowey! 🔴⚪

We’re incredibly proud to see Dean pulling on the Ramsgate FC shirt once again as he lines up for the Ramsgate FC Legends against Manchester United Legends at Southwood on Sunday 26th July.

A true club favourite, Dean gave supporters countless memorable moments during his time with the Rams, and it’s fantastic to see him back representing the club on such a special occasion.

Make sure you get down to Southwood, show your support, and cheer on one of our own as he takes to the pitch once more!

Next up are a couple of forwards who, despite playing in different eras, would surely have made a formidable strike partnership.

We're delighted to announce that Dean Bowey and Matty Adams will both be representing the Ramsgate FC Legends against Manchester United Legends on Sunday 26th July.

Both players thrilled Southwood supporters with their goals, commitment and memorable performances, becoming fan favourites during their time at the club.

It's exciting to think what they might have achieved playing alongside each other in their prime, and supporters will now get the chance to see them in the same Ramsgate side.
