Huw and Oliver Edmunds traveled up to Shropshire this weekend for the Shrewsbury Duatholon at the Shrewsbury sports village, run by MCA fitness and events.
Huw had a really close race leading the first run leg and leading out onto the bike. Coming into 2nd transition after the bike he had about a 50m deficit, but after a great sprint in the second run he caught up and overtook for the win in TSS with about 20m to go.
In Oliver’s race he lead a closely contested first 1km run lap before a strong transition and leading the first lap of the 4km bike course before dropping back to 2nd against a very strong competitor. Having to hold position on the rest of the ride being a non drafting race, Oliver went into the final run leg about 20m behind the lead. There was nothing between the two athletes in speed, with Oliver coming home 2nd having given it absolutely everything.
