A Test of Character at the Park
What a game! If you were looking for an easy, comfortable Sunday afternoon, this wasn't it—but the character, determination, and grit shown by the lads today was outstanding.
We got off to an incredibly slow, rusty start. Before we had even settled into our shape or found our rhythm, AFC Corsham took full advantage of our sluggish opening and hit us with two quickfire goals in the opening 10 minutes. At 2-0 down so early on, it would have been easy for heads to drop and frustration to take over.
Instead, the boys dug deep.
Once we blew away the cobwebs, we started winning our individual battles and playing the football we know we are capable of. We managed to claw two back before the break, giving us the momentum and belief we needed heading into half-time.
The second half the equalizer came from sheer persistence, and from that moment on, there was only going to be one winner. The lads kept going right to the final whistle, completing a phenomenal comeback to secure a deserving 3–2 victory.
MOTM-
Captain's MOTM was Truckle (Left) for his dominating performance at the back, changing the game and making some amazing tackles.
Managers MOTM was Ritchie (Middle) and Cox (Right)
Ritchie played a great game at RB, putting a shift in today winning 1v1s, tracking back to cover and bursting forward when needed.
Cox started in CB, moved to LB and then onto the wing. He shown great resilience and gave 100% wherever we put him. Dominating play and got an assist on the last goal mega performance.
