I’ve been very quiet on here recently as we’ve had a mad summer of photographing many beautiful stories all over the world .

But today I’m sharing something very exciting with you that I think will be perfect for many of you as you come of the mad wedding season.

It’s a very special experience for a limited time only that I’ve created for anyone who needs a little space to reconnect:

It’s called The Solo Restorative Retreat. 💚

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or you’re struggling to juggle all your plates, I get it. Between the fast pace of everyday life, the demands of work (especially if you’re in the wedding industry like me!), and just trying to keep it all together, self-care often gets pushed aside. But it’s so important. 💫

That’s why I’ve designed this very special retreat just for you—a peaceful escape in the beautiful South Downs where you can pause, breathe, and refocus on what truly matters to you.

Here’s a sneak peek of what’s waiting for you:

🏡 A cozy 1-night stay in your own private cottage surrounded by vineyards, just a short trip from London. Breakfast goodies are included.

💭 3-hours with me where we can chat about whatever you would like whether it be mindset, business or simply life. We’ll take a relaxing country walk to one of our local vineyards for a delicious lunch. The focus is all about you and what you need right now, helping you to clear space for the things that bring you joy.

🌸 Time to unwind, connect with nature, and reset your focus in a truly tranquil setting.

I can’t wait to welcome you. 💖

"How can I get my photography brand to stand out?"

This is a question I know resonates deeply with many of you, so today, I thought I’d share with you my own ideas on this. A strategy that we use ourselves & also one I delve into in depth on my IGNITE Programme to help you understand what truly sets you apart from the crowd.

First, let's go on a journey of self-reflection.

Think about your backstory - What pivotal moments or challenges have impacted your progress? These stories often hold the key to your uniqueness.

Consider your passions. What ignites that inner spark of creativity? Your passions are not only the fuel for your artistic endeavours but also the compass guiding you towards your unique niche as a photographer.

Next, evaluate your skill set. What innate strengths do you have that distinguish you from others? Whether it's mastering intricate lighting techniques or a having a passion for encompassing architecture into your composition, your skills form the foundations of your individuality.

Personality plays a pivotal role in shaping your brand too. How do you engage with clients? What values do you hold true? Infuse your brand with authenticity and sincerity, reflecting the essence of who you are as a person.

Now, define the focus of your photography style. Are you a story-telling or editorial photographer? Perhaps you’re inspired more by fashion? Do you prefer to destination, or marquee garden weddings, city style or rustic country? Clarify your niche - whether it's vibrant and bold or understated and minimalist, embrace your unique aesthetic and let it permeate every aspect of your work.

Consider the products and services you offer. From stunning fine art prints to luxurious albums, each is an opportunity to showcase your distinctiveness and provide value to your clients.

The more you dive into these questions, the more will be uncovered. You can then embrace your uniqueness and weave it seamlessly into the fabric of your brand. Your brand will no longer be just another name in the crowd; it will be a testament to your individuality - simply unique.

Embrace your uniqueness my lovelies and shout it out to the world! x

Happy Monday lovelies!
As we all know, a few weeks ago, Instagram’s sudden outage sent shockwaves through the photography community, leaving many photographers in a state of panic. For those who heavily relied on Instagram for marketing, it felt like the ground was crumbling beneath their feet. If you found yourself in this boat, know you’re not alone.

But here’s the thing: this incident served as a powerful reminder that relying solely on one platform for your marketing can be a very risky decision. Imagine if Instagram never came back online? What would happen to your business then?

So today I wanted to send a message to you all about the importance of diversifying your marketing efforts. Your business’s success should never hinge on the stability of a single platform – especially one you don’t even own. Instead, aim for a well-rounded marketing strategy that encompasses various channels and methods to consistently attract your ideal clients.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed and need help with this, I’m here for you. My IGNITE Programme is designed to help photographers just like you in developing strong marketing strategies that extend way beyond just Instagram. There is no cookie-cutter method. No one-size fits all. It’s about truly understanding who it is you want to attract, and understanding how you’re going to find them. Together, we’ll identify what works best for your business and take decisive action to make it happen.

So if you’re ready to break free from over-reliance of Instagram and build a marketing strategy that stands the test of time and will give you the results you need, let’s chat. Simply pop me a DM and we can get started on igniting your business for the better!

Sending lots of Spring love to start the week. xx

Last weekend we dived head-first into our first wedding of 2024.  A magnificent 2-day affair in the heart of London with 150 guests flying in from USA starting with a relaxed evening of welcome drinks before culminating in an unforgettable ceremony and party the following day.

As always, after each wedding, Ian and I take a moment to reflect. We ask ourselves; how did we feel we did? What moments did we capture that we’re particularly proud of? But more importantly, what could we have done differently?

Every wedding we shoot is an opportunity for us to grow, to refine our craft, and to push ourselves to new heights. We understand that perfection is an elusive goal but that doesn’t stop us from striving for it with each and every event. Now I know there are often many aspects on a wedding day that are beyond our control, but hindsight still offers us valuable lessons for the future.

So, looking back on this last weekend, there’s one thing that stood out for us. We didn’t bring with us our trusty radio comms. And whilst we managed just fine without them, there were moments when having them would have undoubtedly made our lives easier. It’s a reminder to always be prepared and to never overlook even the smallest details. Note to self: Pack those radio comms for next time!

So how do we make sure our critique remains positive?

Here are a few tips for you:
🌟 Focus on the positives. Acknowledge the things that went well before delving into areas for improvement. Celebrate your successes and build upon them.

🌟 Frame your feedback constructively. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, focus on how things can be improved in the future. Offer suggestions and solutions rather than criticism.

🌟 Practice self-compassion: Remember that nobody is perfect, and mistakes are a natural part of the learning process. Treat yourself with kindness and understanding as you reflect on your performance.

So my lovely, my message to you today is to keep growing and learning.
Remember that every wedding is an audition for the next.
Always strive to be the best you can be but be kind to yourself on the journey. x🤗

Happy Thursday my lovelies! I thought I’d share with you today my thoughts on how to curate the perfect portfolio. As photographers, this is one of the most important pillars to get right in our business.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the phrase “You attract what you show”. But have you truly understood its significance and more importantly implemented with all your heart into your business?

So let’s delve into it more because between you and me, it’s one of the most common mistakes I see among photographers – they’re showing too much.

Now I get it. About a decade ago, the mantra was to show-off as much as possible. However times have evolved. You’re competing against many more photographers, and also our brides and grooms are time limited. So, we need to make things as easy as possible for them.

LESS IS MORE

We need to streamline the process for our couples so they can peruse our portfolio and swiftly understand our shooting style and also the kinds of weddings we love to shoot.

So, this week, I challenge you to take a look at your portfolio.

🌟What are you showing your potential couples?
🌟What message are you giving?
🌟 Is your style and the types of weddings you love to shoot super clear?
Or is your message diluted in anyway which could lead to confusion?

Take time to refine your photos, and curate a portfolio that perfectly aligns with your dream client – the client you genuinely desire to work with. Not just once or twice – but on a consistent basis.

With every photo, ask yourself the question:

“Is this a wedding I’d love to photograph again?”

If it’s yes, keep it in.
If it’s a no, remove it.

It’s really that simple. 🤗

Now, if you’re reading this confused as to who your ideal client is… well that’s a different topic – but still an incredibly important one to understand. So, if this is you, drop me a DM and let me know. And I’ll be sure to share my ideas on this in a future post soon.

Sending Happy Thursday love right to you. x

Self-care is a phrase we hear often, but do we truly understand its significance? It’s a reminder to prioritize our well-being, nurture our minds, bodies and souls and to carve out moments of peace amidst life’s hustle and bustle.

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to neglect our self-care. We get caught up in the demands of work, family and daily responsibilities, forgetting to prioritise our own needs. But more than ever, it’s crucial to pause, reflect and to give ourselves the care we deserve.

And believe me, if you can do this, it’ll also make your business stronger.

So I’d like to share a little bit of my own journey with self-care with you today.

Last year, I realized that despite my love for my family and work, I was neglecting myself. I felt a void, a lack of personal time and space. So, I embarked on a journey to discover what self-care truly meant to me.

I transformed spaces in my home into little sanctuaries. A cosy corner in the conservatory where I can read, journal, practice yoga, or simply bask in the beauty of nature; a revitalized potting shed in our garden where I can escape for some solitary potting time surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature.

Additionally, I make a point to escape for a night away every now and then, whether alone or with a friend, seeking out rustic retreats off the beaten path. These moments of solitude and connection with nature have become essential for my well-being.

But enough about me. I want to turn the spotlight on YOU.

What does self-care look like in your life?

Is it a luxurious bubble bath, a gentle massage, a leisurely stroll in nature, or losing yourself in the pages of a good book?

And it doesn’t need to be complicated.
Five minutes a week is better than nothing at all.

So my lovely friend, I invite you to join me in prioritizing your self-care this week and beyond. Give yourself permission to rest, recharge and rejuvenate, knowing that by taking care of yourself, you become better equipped to face life’s challenges with grace and resilience – whatever it throws at you.

Treat yourself with the same compassion and care that you so generously give to others.

🤗♥️

“What distinguishes photographers who can charge premium prices?”

This is a question that comes up often over my years of mentoring photographers.

And I’ve heard many various answers, from living in affluent areas to possessing exceptional skills and a great understanding of business.

These factors certainly play a role, but there’s one far more important common thread that binds all the really successful photographers together:

B E L I E F

Belief truly is the golden nugget for photographers who want to charge those premium prices.

It’s not just about confidence or skill; it’s about an unwavering belief in oneself and what you offer.  This belief permeates every aspect of your business, from your photography skills to your marketing strategies.

You need to exude a self-assurance in your abilities and the value that you bring to your clients.

You’re not preoccupied with comparing yourself with others or constantly monitoring your competition on social media. Instead, you remain steadfastly focused on your journey, your unique vision, and your ideal clients.

Moreover, you need to surround yourself with individuals who share in your belief and support your aspirations because this will further fuel your confidence to propel you towards even greater success. This is your tribe and you need to keep them close to you so you can help raise each other to great levels.

So, as you navigate your own journey in the world of wedding photography, remember the power of belief.

Cultivate it within yourself, nurture it relentlessly, and watch as it transforms not only your business but also your entire outlook in life on what’s possible.

Learning how to strengthen your belief system is a key element I can help you with in my mentoring. If you’d like to find out more, get in touch and let’s chat! xx

Happy Valentine’s Day my lovelies!

Today I thought I’d dive into a topic that’s near and dear to all our hearts - MARKETING!

Yep, it’s time to spill the beans on how to create a killer marketing strategy that’s as unique as you are.

So, picture this: You’re on a mission to connect with your ideal client – not just any client, but YOUR ideal client. The one who gets your vibe, your style, and who can’t wait to work with you. That’s where your marketing strategy comes in, and let me tell you, it’s all about being strategic, targeted and consistent.

There are many ways to market yourself as a wedding photographer. What is important is that you find what works for you, and that you keep at it. Keep showing up, be persistent and be patient.

Today I thought I’d share with you a little anecdote from my own experience just recently using strategy, instagram and networking.

After the new year, I was laser-focused on connecting with planners we wanted to collaborate with more in 2025.

I connected with them directly on Instagram. At the same time I posted on Insta Stories images I knew would resonate with them and their brides.

And guess what? Within just an hour of reaching out to one planner, I got a response from her saying that one of her brides had seen our work and was ready to book on a £15k package!

Now, I’m not saying luck wasn’t involved – although a sprinkle of luck never hurts! But it’s also about strategic planning and taking action at the right time. That really is the secret sauce, my lovely.

I’d love to hear your stories of what’s really worked for you in your marketing.

Sending lots of Valentines love your way and here if I you’d like me to help you more.

♥️xx

I’ve been mentoring the gorgeous since March and wow what a journey this amazing lady has been on.

I remember asking her on our initial zoom call before she signed up to IGNITE Programme how much she was ready to be pushed. She answered 10/10. And yes I have pushed her because i knew she was capable of doing amazing things. She just didn’t believe in herself.

But now, almost a year on, she is nearing the end of her journey with me. She has grown so much in our time together. She knows who she is, what she does and who she wants to work with.
I couldn’t be prouder of you, my lovely.

Happy Thursday lovely peeps!

So, I have two questions for you this today.

First up… How are you getting on setting your goals for 2024?

Now, if you’ve hit a stumbling block on this, please keep reading because this message is particularly for YOU!

Have you heard of the KISS strategy?

It stands for “Keep It Simple, Stupid,” and it can be a real game-changer when you’re struggling with time and focus.  So if this sounds like you, listen up!

The KISS strategy is all about keeping it easy for yourself. Why complicate things, right?

If you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed, this might be your best strategy.

Now, how to simplify those goals?
You simply pick one word.

Yep, just one word that’ll be your theme for the year.

It could be anything – happiness, joy, clarity, intention, purpose, resilience, abundance, courage, wellness, creativity…  you name it!

Let me help you by sharing with you my word.

F L O W

Trust me, one simple decision beats no decision any day.

So, as you think about your year ahead, dive into the KISS strategy, carefully select that one word, and let it be your vibe for 2024.

I’d love to hear what word you choose to help keep you focused this year.

Have a lovely day, and remember, if you’re feeling at all overwhelmed, just think of KISS x

24/01/2024

I’ve had a jam-packed January hosting some really special 1on1 Turbo Booster Strategy Days for a variety of truly lovely photographers with high hopes for making 2024 THEIR year.

And there’s been a common theme running through for each of you.

A feeling of total overwhelm on how to actually make this YOUR YEAR. You know you want to make it great but you feel lost in knowing what you need to do to make it happen.

If this sounds like you, don’t worry and please keep reading….

Let me ask you a question.

Do you have one strong clear goal for 2024? Something attainable, that really fires you up and makes you feel super excited? A goal that you’ll know with crystal clear clarity when you’ve achieved it?

And just as importantly, have you written that goal down and put it somewhere that reminds you everyday of what you’re working towards?

Not having a clear goal is the most common reason why we can feel overwhelmed when we think about what we need to do in our business to make it stronger and better.

You see, once you have that goal, THEN you can make a strategic plan with lots of little steps that will make it happen. But without a goal, it’s very easy to drift. You have no idea what steps to take because you don’t know where it is you actually want to go or what it is you really want.

I feel passionate about helping make 2024 a great year for you so I’ve created a workbook to help you become a great goal-getter. To access it, simply go to the link in my bio and click “How to have the business of your dreams.”

Goal-setting is the first step in making the invisible visible and I really hope this workbook helps. It’s a packed 19 page workbook not only guiding you how to set yourself a great goal but also how to stay focused to make that goal happen.

I’d love to hear what goal you set for yourself to make 2024 YOUR YEAR.

16/01/2024

This is Flora. We adopted her from the Guide Dog Programme last April. A working life just wasn’t for her and she really needed a normal family home life where she could run free everyday in big open countryside, cosying up by the fire and loads of hugs.

When she first arrived, she would stop on walks, lie down and refuse to move. She wasn’t in pain or being lazy, she was simply overwhelmed and stuck in what is called a state of “freeze mode”. (Slide 2)

Many of you will have heard of the flight and fight responses of stress. But did you know that there’s a third response called “freeze”?

It can happen to us all. It’s a response often caused by panic or fear in some form. It shows itself not by fleeing or fighting, but by dissociating ourselves. And that’s what was happening to Flora.

With it being Wellness Week, I wanted to reach out to share Flora’s story with you.

Running a business can be stressful. Life can be stressful. And if you feel or have felt this way, this post is for you. It’s ok. These are some of the ways the freeze response can make you feel:

🌟Can’t think straight
🌟Suddenly feeling exhausted
🌟Feeling like your body is very heavy
🌟Can’t make decisions
🌟Have no emotions - a feeling of blankness
🌟Feeling like you’re no longer in your body but watching yourself from outside
🌟Don’t feel as if anything is real

But don’t worry. There are things you can do to help overcome it:

1. Relaxation and breathing techniques.
2. Grounding exercises
3. Find a safe quiet space where you can pull yourself together and patiently decide what to do next.
4. Get professional support if you feel you need more help.

So back to Flora’s story. Over the past ten months, with loads of gentle encouragement, support and daily little actions to help her feel grounded, calm and understood, her freeze responses are now almost a distant memory. Infact I’d say she’s flourishing. It’s simply magical to see.

It’s ok not to be ok. But it’s important that if you’re not, you notice how you’re feeling and take conscious actions to help yourself to feel better. You’re not alone. And how you feel will pass.

Happy Tuesday my lovelies.
Take care of yourselves xx
