Decent weekend for the club.
Superb victory over League champions Waterlooville by the 1st team. Marcus Bragginton 35, Spencer Savage 29 & Sam Collins 24 headed a determined team batting performance, as we totalled 199. The bowlers backed this up brilliantly, with 4 wickets each for Jack Nicholls & Marcus Bragginton, as Waterlooville were dismissed for 97. This gives us an outside chance of avoiding relegation on the last day of the season.
The only losers on Saturday were the 2nd team, who went down by 1 wicket to Bournemouth 3rds, despite 52 for Sam Lewis and 3 wickets for Toby McKinlay.
The 3rd team maintained their winning run, with a 6 wicket win over promotion contenders Hyde. There were 4 wickets for Jack Roffey and 3 for Jeremy Morgan. Then Chris Smith smashed 75 to take us to victory.
It wasn't looking good for the 4th team when they lost their first 2 wickets for 3 runs, but they recovered well, led by Alan Luther 34, Carl Samtani 39, Oscar Pike 34no, to total 218. 3 wickets each for Nags Varma & Sai Muddapuram limited Symene 2nds to 195 in reply. Next week's match with Puddletown 2nds will decide who goes down.
On Sunday, the Women had their Cup Semi-Final, against a very strong Broadstone team, plus guests. Lia Harper 38 & Lauren Gavin 25, both batted very well, but our total of 123 was never going to be enough. Overall it has been a very good season for our ever-expanding Women's section and the team spirit and ethos is superb.

A MAJIC WEEKEND
It started with a vital win for the 1st Team and finished with our first trophy of the season.
A depleted 1st team put in a great team effort to defeat Fawley by 125 runs. Individual highlights were Tom Jacques 64, Spencer Savage 58, Kieran Laird 40, Marcus Bragginton 4-24, Tom Saunders 3-26.
The 2nds weren't sure that a total of 202 would be enough, but then Jo Huns reduced Bashley 3rds to 8-5, finishing with figures of 6-16, as they were bowled out for 107. In our innings, Lewis Barber 51, Keir Humphrey 37, Tom Barber 25, batted well in the top order and there was an excellent 10th wicket partnership of 21 between Emelia Butler 11no and debutant Lewis Luther 15.
A 2nd wicket partnership of 155 between Avinash Reshamwala 99 & James Miller 82 laid the foundation for the 3rds score of 283-6. This proved to be 89 runs too many for a very experienced Ferndown Wayfarers 3rds batting line-up, with 2 wickets each for Jimmy Restall, Jamie Weir & Monish Chillakuru.
2 wickets apiece for Kieran Humphrey & Viraaj Singh, backed up by accurate bowling from the rest of the bowlers meant that the 4ths limited Broadstone 4s to a total of 238-4. Superb batting by Sai Muddapuram 70, Kieran Humphrey 63 and Jake Courtiour 23, meant we were always way ahead of the rate and it was left to Nags Varma & Rob Lewis both 16no to take us to victory with nearly 10 overs to spare.
Sunday saw the Women's Softball team retain the Division 1 Title, with a 103 run win over Brosdstone. An excellent squad effort throughout the season, in which we had 100% winning record.
