Our U11s made the long trip to Marnhull, last night, for their Dorset Cup Q/Final.
The North Dorset league is much weaker than the local league, which showed as we amassed 203-1 in our 20 overs, with the following batsmen all reaching the retirement score - Aayush Muddapuram 37, Lucas Baker 25, Hitesh Chillakuru 27, Felix Detheridge 25, James Head 25. Then Hitesh and Ollie Brindle both took 2 wickets, as Marnhull were bowled out for 35.
Thank you to Marnhull for hosting us and good luck for the rest of the season.

An opening partnership of 147 between Tom Saunders 86 and Keir Humphrey 68, paved the way for a 109 run victory by our Midweek Team over Christchurch. There were 2 wickets each for Harry Mallalieu & Toby McKinlay, plus 3 catches and a run out for Tom Rose.

Last night's U15 game was overshadowed by a nasty injury to Rhys Olding. Rhys was doing what the coaches tell him and backing up a wild throw, but took the instructions too far about getting his body behind the ball and was hit in the face.
This resulted in a visit to A & E. Our manager, Adam Parrett, dealt with the issue in a very calm, professional manner. He was assisted by parents from both teams. We would also like to praise the players from both sides, for their exemplary conduct while Rhys was being looked after.
The good news this morning is that Rhys appears to have avoided serious injury, but he is still being monitored. Next time you see him Rhys probably won't have his normal good looks, but more like he has been in the ring with Tyson Fury.
Everybody wishes him well and we hope to see him on the cricket pitch again very soon.

For the second consecutive day, the U13 Panthers faced the very strong Wimborne side. We lost again, but unlike the previous day, the batsmen did well, particularly Fin Major 33no and Monish Chillakuru 31no. However, apart from Harry Swainston 2-22 and Charlie Simms 1-12, the bowlers struggled to contain a powerful batting line up, with 42 wides not helping.
Our very young Piranhas team can up against the much older Ferrndown Wayfarers side, who hammered us 3 weeks ago. Yesterday saw a much improved performance, particularly Alex Broit 27 and Ted Hemming 20. Harry Luther bowled well, with figures of 3 overs 1-14, but Ferndown Wayfarers still managed to win.

3 Cup games yesterday and unfortunately 3 defeats.
It started with the Women's Softball team losing too many wickets in chasing Verwood's 292, and despite 24no from Lia Harper at the end, we exited the Softball 100 Cup.
Despite bowling well the U13s fielding, and field placing, again let them down, in the Dorset Cup Semi-Final, which allowed Wimborne to compile 141-4. Monish Chillakuru 19 and Henry Rose 11 got us off to a good start, although running between the wickets should have been more aggressive. However, once they departed we collapsed and only Arnav Muddapuram with 15 made a significant contribution.
Finally, our Southern League T20 Cup team lost by 3 wickets to Ferndown Wayfarers. The top order failed to fire and later contributions Lewis Barber 23no and Sam Lewis 19 got us to 125-7. We put up a good effort in the field, with Harry Mallalieu 3-15 & Andy Cooke 2-26, but it wasn't quite enough.
The day was saved by the U8s winning again, ,by 5 runs, in a thriller with Wimborne.

Saturday started with our U9s, under new manager James McLeod, putting in a good performance against Christchurch. The batting stars were Wilf Hemming 17 and Bhradain McLeod 13. Then the same 2 players took 2 wickets each, as we won by 57 runs.
It was good to see Josh Rogers playing his first game of the season, following an injury. He scored 28no for the U11 Pirates, for whom Alex Broit continued his good bating form, with 26no, as we totalled 94-3. Despite 2 wickets for Rory Samtani, this wasn't quite good enough to prevent a Poole victory.
In the afternoon, an excellent all-round performance from Marcus Bragginton, 47 and 2-33, proved crucial as the 1st Team defeated Fawley by 91 runs. In otherwise disappointing batting performance, Tom Jacques made 42, despite his running being hampered by a hamstring issue. Bo Powell, 3-27, and Tom Blackley, 2-13, proved to be a lively opening bowling partnership.
The 2nds continue to struggle away from Parley. On this occasion they lost by 62 runs to Bashley, despite Harry Mallalieu, 4-35, Toby McKinlay, 3-40, and Jon Rake making 50.
A mainly young 3rd team came up against a more experienced Ferndown Wayfarers 3rds. Our 'senior pros' Sai Muddapuram 42 and Greg Smith 30, were the main contributors in a total of 174-6. However, despite 2 wickets for Jamie Weir, we went down by 5 wickets.
The highlights of our 4th team's 35 run loss to Broadstone 4ths were Rob Lewis 32, Ben Gyles 2-20 & 14no.

At last a sunny evening, as the U10s visited Christchurch.
Unfortunately, we didn't manage to bat all our overs and, despite 25no from Hitesh Chillakuru, were bowled out for 74. We bowled well but dropped catches proved costly, as Christchurch won by 2 wickets. Maybe a lesson for all our teams, youth and adult. You are much better off practising catching rather than kicking a football around!!
