Congratulations to our u13's who were crowned B league champions this weekend with a convincing 3-0 home win against Bergholt Heath.

A good win and clean sheet for the girls today to see out the season on a positive note.

Pre match chat was nice and simple, just go out and enjoy the last league game after all the hard work of this season. Keep the football simple and enjoy yourselves.

True to form, fast start and well taken goals and the girls were in control throughout and never looked like losing this one.

Special mentions to joint players of the match today (I couldn't split them) Scarlett and Jess. Both worked so hard down the wings and were a constant threat to the opposition, well done girls.

Oyster 7 - Concord 0

A dominant display today saw the u16's girls secure 'A' league runners up spot with a convincing win at home to Concord.

A hyperfocused Oyster team went out straight from the very first whistle with an incredibly fast start to put the girls 2-0 up within 10 mins, and confidence was sky high.
Credit to the girls they kept the intensity up for the full 80mins to ensure they delivered the game plan to absolute perfection.

Liv fast off her line shutting out any half chances, defence as solid as the great wall of China, midfield winning literally every tackle, wingers terrorising the defence and the forwards taking the chances when they came.
Even the added bonus of Katie joining us during her recovery from injury on the sideline, to rightfully be where she belongs in the Oyster family celebrating with her team mates.

That performance guarantees our amazing girls runners up spot in the A league with a game to spare.

No special mentions this week as player of the match went to every girl, not one passenger today, a complete squad performance!

Well done girls on a strong season, finishing on a high.

Brooklands 1 - Oyster 5

The girls got back to winning ways against a tough opponent, that made the girls scrap for every ball with individual battles going on all over the pitch. A narrow 1-0 lead going into the half time break was sufficient against the wind. The half time team talk was about maintaining the intensity in and out of possession, and sticking to the passing football the girls like to play, carrying that into the second half to tire the opposition out. As always the girls delivered as requested and 4 second half goals killed the game.

It was a complete squad performance from every player much to the pleasure of the coaches.

A few stand out players today, Ruby doing what Ruby does. Smashing tackles like a beast, high work rate and a well deserved goal after some hard battling.

Congratulations to Jess notching her first ever Oyster goal with a lovely right foot curler from the edge of the box.

And finally a special mention to player of the match Scarlett, who worked selflessly for the team today, gave a fully committed performance and did everything we asked of her before the game. Well done Scarlett 💪

No football for the girls this week, so the coaches took the opportunity for a bit of team bonding and a bit of laugh at Hollywood Bowl for the team.

Oyster 0 - Hutton 7

The girls were knocked out of the cup semi final in convincing fashion this week by A league dominating Hutton (league leaders, county cup finalists and league cup finalists).

The weather was atrocious, our pitch wasn't much better, but both teams had to put up with it. The opposition came with a focused purpose and a better intensity towards the game than Oyster could muster throughout. Not the way we wanted to finish the cup run but we learn from games like this and use them as part of the girls ongoing development and progression.

We wish our opposition Hutton good luck in their final.

Special mention to Evie, who worked so hard throughout the game in defence and midfield and really put a shift in to give 100% despite the conditions, she brings pace, power and physicality every week and was one of the stand out players.

Concord 4 - Oyster 3
A frustrating day for the girls in last weeks game.
We could make excuses that we were missing 3 players due to illness (which was the case) but in reality the bottom line is we weren't anyway near good enough and didn't deserve to win the match.

A positive to have come away with, is that the determination and never give up attitude everytime we let them score, meant the team dug in and responded with an equaliser.

Special mention to POTM Ruby who was fantastic. She showed amazing strength and resilience throughout the game today and calm finishing to bag herself a brace. Well done Ruby💪

Oyster FC are looking for new or existing players for our new girls development squad. A well run team, with enthusiastic, friendly coaches at a family friendly club.

All coaches dbs checked and hold all relevant safeguarding and first aid qualifications.

Wakering 0 - Oyster 5

A tough start to this weeks game against Wakering, saw our hosts set up in a defensive 4-5-1 to try to frustrate the Oyster girls attack. After 25 mins of hard work and several good saves from the opposition goalkeeper, Oyster finally made the breakthrough to go 1 up. After the goal the girls relaxed into the game, in the cold conditions, and the following 4 goals came soon after to make sure we come away with another win and put another 3 points on the board.

Few special mentions today, firstly Maizie was clinical today. Her pace and finishing causing a constant pressure for the opposition and deservedly bagged a hat trick ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Secondly to Jess.
Her all round game today was superb. She supported the attacks constantly and provided some great crosses and was unlucky not to be on the score sheet herself. At the other end was making recovery runs to support the defence. Well done Jess on your well deserved POTM.

Springfield 1 - Oyster 5
A fantastic complete squad performance for the away game against Springfield girls, saw Oyster take control within 3 mins with an early goal to settle the team quickly. In a match that was dominated by Oyster the girls were ruthless with the chances taken to put another 3 points on the board going into the final third of the season.

Special mentions today (we could mention the whole team today, such was the level and work rate, not one passenger) captain and vice captain Ellie and Natalie were a force today, really showing true leadership.

Ellie with her work rate, direct running and 3 great finishes (the 3rd was outstanding) and a well deserved player of the match performance from Natalie, who seemed to be literally everywhere on the pitch today.
Well done Nat, well deserved.
