A good win and clean sheet for the girls today to see out the season on a positive note.

Pre match chat was nice and simple, just go out and enjoy the last league game after all the hard work of this season. Keep the football simple and enjoy yourselves.

True to form, fast start and well taken goals and the girls were in control throughout and never looked like losing this one.

Special mentions to joint players of the match today (I couldn't split them) Scarlett and Jess. Both worked so hard down the wings and were a constant threat to the opposition, well done girls.

Oyster 7 - Concord 0

A dominant display today saw the u16's girls secure 'A' league runners up spot with a convincing win at home to Concord.

A hyperfocused Oyster team went out straight from the very first whistle with an incredibly fast start to put the girls 2-0 up within 10 mins, and confidence was sky high.
Credit to the girls they kept the intensity up for the full 80mins to ensure they delivered the game plan to absolute perfection.

Liv fast off her line shutting out any half chances, defence as solid as the great wall of China, midfield winning literally every tackle, wingers terrorising the defence and the forwards taking the chances when they came.
Even the added bonus of Katie joining us during her recovery from injury on the sideline, to rightfully be where she belongs in the Oyster family celebrating with her team mates.

That performance guarantees our amazing girls runners up spot in the A league with a game to spare.

No special mentions this week as player of the match went to every girl, not one passenger today, a complete squad performance!

Well done girls on a strong season, finishing on a high.

Brooklands 1 - Oyster 5

The girls got back to winning ways against a tough opponent, that made the girls scrap for every ball with individual battles going on all over the pitch. A narrow 1-0 lead going into the half time break was sufficient against the wind. The half time team talk was about maintaining the intensity in and out of possession, and sticking to the passing football the girls like to play, carrying that into the second half to tire the opposition out. As always the girls delivered as requested and 4 second half goals killed the game.

It was a complete squad performance from every player much to the pleasure of the coaches.

A few stand out players today, Ruby doing what Ruby does. Smashing tackles like a beast, high work rate and a well deserved goal after some hard battling.

Congratulations to Jess notching her first ever Oyster goal with a lovely right foot curler from the edge of the box.

And finally a special mention to player of the match Scarlett, who worked selflessly for the team today, gave a fully committed performance and did everything we asked of her before the game. Well done Scarlett 💪
