Ditton Karate Club DKC teaches all grades and ages Shotokan Karate technique & discipline, whilst promoting fitness and confidence in a welcoming atmosphere. �

DKC has been practising Shotokan Karate for over 25 years, teaching people of all ages and abilities, promoting fitness, wellbeing, and confidence. Our Sensai's have a wealth of experience and are fully DBS checked and certified. We cater for any students personal needs, nervous beginners can arrange to have one to one training to build confidence. Beginners lessons cover basic techniques, and wil

l progress to learning Kata, and basic Kumite, at a pace suited to the student. The 60 minute class includes a proper warm up and full warm down. Students are encouraged to practice at home to help them progress and perfect their techniques. Classes are on Monday & Wednesday, starting at 18:30, at Leybourne Village Hall, Little Market Row. For any of the mums/aunts/nans/sisters that are interested Sensei Tina and Sensei Helen are running a women’s self defence course. It’s for 6 weeks and will have an element of fitness, flexibility training and practical self defence course. The course is £40 for the six weeks. After that point we will be continuing it as a women’s only karate club. Please don’t be put off by that bit or the fact that you may feel that your fitness may not be ‘up to par’ we will all be moving at a slow steady pace and you can work to your own speed. Even if you just do the six weeks to see if it’s for you and to improve fitness along with practical self defence techniques. Message me if you fancy signing up. So this time last week this young man achieved his Shodan. It was truly deserved, not only for a flawless grading but for all the help and support he offers the lower grade students both young and old and his dedication to karate and the clubs. A great karateka and mentor for the lower grades. Am truly proud to call him our student. Very well done Callum 👍🏻👍🏻

Ok. After some careful consideration and willing the snow to thaw it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere fast. I know that most of the students drive to the hall so I’ve made the decision to cancel tonight’s lesson. As much as we were looking forward to seeing some of you in your new belts and having a fun lesson I’m not prepared to jeopardise anyone’s safety. We have done the grading and everyone passed with flying colours so at least we have the end of the year on a high. I will let everyone know about Wednesdays lesson on the day, hopefully by then the snow will have gone away. Failing that we have the awards evening and party on Monday the 19th (when the weather forecast says it’s a lot warmer than at the moment!) at Larkfield village hall 6-8 and hopefully I’ll see everyone there if we can’t train on Wednesday 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻. I just have to reiterate how immensely proud of all of the students who attended the grading yesterday, you all conducted yourselves very well throughout the grading and whilst grading. Well done and fingers crossed we will see you Wednesday 🤞🏻🤞🏻. Tina x
