The Children’s Football Alliance (CFA) sponsored PEACE GAME features the BBC BAFTA Award-winning This
Country stars and their celebrity friends, helping to raise funds for the Charity’s annual 2026 Global Peace Games,
held at the Peace Village, Mesen, Belgium, the site of the 1914 First World War Christmas truces. Young people
from across Europe participate in the week-long peace education through play programme, which creates peace
makers for the future.
Paul Cooper, CFA Co-Founder/Director, aka Martin Mucklowe,
‘Charlie and I are really looking forward to kicking a
ball into onion bags, raising money for young people to take part in the September 2026 Global Peace Games.
Having seen first-hand how this project changes young lives, we are determined to make This Country 4 Peace a
’
success.
There are currently over 120 armed conflicts and wars occurring globally, the highest number recorded since the
end of World War II. These range from major interstate wars to complex insurgencies and regional skirmishes
spanning over 60 countries.
The CFA’s Peace Education Through Play Programme’s INTERNATIONAL PEACE FIELD PROJECTS has twinned 82
designated areas of play in 6 continents with the Peace Pitch in Flanders Peace Field, Belgium. Over 66,000 children
annually celebrate peace games on their peace pitch: Argentina, Australia, Barbados, Belgium, Bosnia &
Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, DRCongo, Fiji, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Israel,
Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Poland, Samoa, Scotland, Slovenia, USA and Wales
Ernie Brennan, CFA Founder/CEO, said, ‘This Country 4 Peace, the clue is in the title. Turn up, have fun, support
your favourite celebrities and help raise money to give children less fortunate an experience of a lifetime.’
