On this day in 1917, a fire broke out in the early hours at Birling Manor House, leaving it almost totally demolished & bringing to an end what was at the time a central part of Birling village life.

The house was finally pulled down in the 1940s and the gardens left to nature. Decades later, and over 100 years since the fire, it's these very gardens that we have worked hard to restore and now want to share with you...why don't you join us and be part of our evolving story?
