Meet the Instructors

Dan Carter
Dan Carter began training in Judo in 2006 under Sensei Dave Rogers (Rokudan) and Martin Rogers (Sandan).
Instantly hooked after his first session, he soon expanded his training with other local instructors including Frank Hobley (Rokudan) and Peter Jones (Nidan).
Dan earned his Shodan in 2015 and, after a four-year break from the sport, returned to achieve his Nidan in 2022. He now co-leads the continued development of Chiiki Ryu Judo.

Robin Schinning
Robin Schinning began training in Judo in 1994 at the age of eight in the Netherlands under Ton Kronenburg (Sandan), a former Dutch Green Beret. Like many young beginners, he started with little confidence, but through Judo he developed both confidence and resilience as he progressed through the ranks. He earned his Shodan at the age of 19. Alongside his Judo training, he later developed additional self-defence skills through training with the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps and the Dutch Police. Robin now co-leads Chiiki Ryu Judo alongside Dan Carter.
