Yesterday was the busiest day for commercial aviation that we’ve ever tracked. We tracked 134,386 commercial flights on 6 July and today is shaping up to be another busy day. More than 20,000 flights are in the air right now.

Like all three Southerly Yachts we’ve owned over our years of cruising, Distant Shores III, a Southerly 480 has a fully retractable variable-draft swing-keel allowing us to explore extremely shallow places such as here in Pipe Creek, Exumas, the Bahamas, where at low tide we can dry out completely.

Our new custom Orion 49 by Yachtbuilding Gebroeders van Enkhuizen in the Netherlands will have an upgraded swing keel so we can get to similar shallow places.
