Hi everyone,
Firstly, thank you to the admins for allowing me to post.
I’m a photographer, rider and lifelong motorcycle enthusiast based in Bedford, and I’ve recently started a long-term photographic project called Behind the Visor.
The aim is simple: to create an archive of motorcycle riders and the people behind the helmets.
Every rider is photographed using the same core portrait format, creating a consistent visual record of the people who make up our community. Alongside the images, riders share a little about themselves and why they ride.
This isn’t a commercial shoot, a bike review or a sales pitch.
It’s a long term documentary project.
The project is being built as an archive of motorcycle riders and the people behind the helmets. The aim is to create a lasting record of motorcycle culture through the stories and portraits of the people who live it.
At the moment I’m concentrating on riders in and around Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and North London as I build the project’s foundations close to home.
As the project develops, I expect to work with riders much further afield, but for now I’m focused on establishing a strong local archive and a consistent body of work.
It doesn’t matter whether you ride a Fireblade, GSXR, Panigale, Harley, adventure bike, tourer, commuter or your first 125. If you ride, you’re exactly the sort of person I’m interested in talking to.
If you’d like to be involved, drop me a message.
Ride safe,
Paul
