Yet another glorious parkrun morning for our 217 participants - it certainly warmed up out there

Congratulations on milestones to Cathryn (300), Rachel (200) & Ben (100)

Welcome to all of our visitors, and to the 12 people completing their first parkrun - we hope you'll all be back

And of course a massive thank you to all of our incredible & supportive volunteers (with apologies to the marshals who Donna didn't reply to due to a radio issue of her own making.. you can't get the staff these days!)

* We did have an issue with a double scanned token which we have fixed as well as we can, but if you think your result is wrong, please email us [email protected]

Next week we have a volunteer takeover by Lordshill Road Runners - in part so that many of our team can run along with our regular tailwalker, Matt, for his 500th milestone. Please do come along for the celebration if you can

With parkrun celebrating it's 1,000,000th event this weekend it would have been pretty disappointing to have not joined in, but thanks to all of our brilliant volunteers who signed up through the week and answered our last minute call today, we are good to go!!!

Although there may be some lingering puddles, the forecast is looking good for a perfect parkrun morning so there's no better way to start your weekend

Donna will be your RD, ready to set you off at 9am - let us know if you have any milestones, birthdays or shout-outs, and visitors please come and write where you're from on our tourist board

See you there 🏃

FRIDAY UPDATE!!!! HELP!!!!

Friday lunchtime and we're still 2 marshals short.... If anyone can step in to help so that we can go ahead we'd be so grateful

Please message, comment or email [email protected]

We're almost there with our volunteer roster for this weekend - a massive thank you to everyone who got in touch - but we still need 3 more marshals

Please let us know if you can help out

There's a very big hole on our roster where marshals should be - we currently have 0/10 and anyone who knows our course or has looked at the map will know that that just won't work 😥

We also need a non running barcode scanner

Could you help us out - no experience is needed and we'd be so grateful

Mother Nature must be a parkrunner - we had rain before and after, but it was dry, even with some glimpses of sun for our 168 participants today

There was a big pirate contingent (and thank you for the cake) to celebrate Josh Murray's 250th, along with Caspar Ridley reaching the same milestone, and Neal Coleman hit 100 - congratulations

Caspar was also amongst the 12 people getting a PB today - well done to all of you

Welcome Connor, Matthew & Greg completing their first ever parkrun, and to all of our visitors (sorry - no tourist board today thanks to the rain...)

And of course, a huge thank you to RD Jess and our brilliant volunteers who make the event possible

If you could volunteer with us next week please get in touch https://www.parkrun.org.uk/itchenvalleycountry/futureroster/

Enjoy your weekend 😊

Did you know that it's national volunteers week?

Now we may be a tiny bit biased, but we reckon ours have to be some of the best out there

To everyone who has stepped forward for tomorrow, or has volunteered with us once or, in some cases, hundreds of times, THANK YOU!! You are at the heart of our community, and we appreciate everything you do all year round - there is no parkrun without you

Tomorrow's gang will be led by RD Jess, and although the weather forecast makes for damp reading, the welcome and support you'll get will be as sunny as ever

First timers briefing will be around 8.45, with main briefing at 8.55.

Toilets near the start are open from 8, and you'll only pay for 1 hour's parking if you arrive after 8am and leave by 11am

If you'd like to find out more about volunteering please come and see one of our team or get in touch by email or messenger. Info on roles can found here and you don't need any experience, training can be done on the day https://www.parkrun.org.uk/itchenvalleycountry/volunteer/

From a distance it did look like the vultures were circling over our 274 participants at the highest and most exposed part of the course on a very warm morning, but on closer inspection it was just seagulls enjoying the thermals

https://www.parkrun.org.uk/itchenvalleycountry/results/2026-05-30/

7 people joined us for their first ever parkrun - welcome - and 21 of you achieved a PB, congratulations

Well done to those reaching official or unofficial milestones: Awena (10), Mark (25), James (50) David & Andy (100), Ben & Sarah (150), and John (650!), plus a bonus special where one of our visitors from Australia has completed 8 parkruns in May having travelled via Japan - quite some planning!

Helen was amongst our visitors and has sent us her report - thank you https://www.parkrun.org.uk/itchenvalleycountry/news/

A huge thank you to our RD Claire and our brilliant volunteers who make our event possible. Please get in touch if you can help out next, or any other, week https://www.parkrun.org.uk/itchenvalleycountry/futureroster/

A midweek peek at our roster makes for pretty good reading thanks to everyone who has volunteered so far

Our RD this week is Claire, and she just needs a couple more marshals to make sure all spots are covered

If you could help us out, please comment below, message us or email [email protected] with your A number

Thank you!

Well that was a warm one!

Very well done to our 310 participants, including Chris, Finn, Ali, Maisie, Carly & Holly who joined us for their first ever time today, & welcome to all of our visitors, some chasing the I and bon voyage to anyone off on a cruise later!

We saw milestones - official or not - for Daisy & Sarah (25), Jane (50) and Amy (150), who was amongst the 31 of you recording a PB today. Congratulations to you all

https://www.parkrun.org.uk/itchenvalleycountry/results/2026-05-23/

We had amazing support from Eastleigh Running Club who supplied all of our volunteers today (and who knew dinosaurs liked running!). Thank you all so much

We were also lucky to have Paul Hammond with us taking photos at various spots around the course. It looks like a lot of you saw him and gave him a wave! You can have a look through all of his pictures (including our cover photo for today) here https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCUwbW

Finally, there was unfortunately an incident with a non parkrunning member of the public today, and some of our runners stepped in to support our RD - thank you. If those runners, or anyone else who saw or experienced anything, would like to comment, please do so at [email protected]
