A less panicky Thursday post this week, thanks to the lovely people who have volunteered so far

We would still appreciate another marshal or 2 and additional scanners would be welcome

We're also in need of someone familiar with the course to do the pre-event check, along with some bramble pruning

Our fabulous volunteers have answered our calls again, and we now have a very healthy looking roster

The forecast is for a cool but dry morning, perfect parkrun weather 🌞

We'll see you at 8.45 for first timers briefing, main briefing at 8.55

⭐ Course checker x1 (must be familiar with the course & can run it without cones or marshals

⭐ Set-up X2 (someone who has done it before or a regular who'd like to learn)

⭐ Finish token giver-outer x1

⭐ Barcode scanner x1 at least (could be a fast runner)

⭐ Marshal x8 at least

That was a little bit soggy but 225 of you embraced the cooler weather and completed your 5k today

A big welcome to all of our 97 visitors & 1 first timer (Lara). No tourist board today - it doesn't like the rain, but Pauline from South Africa also sorted our tokens afterwards 😊

We saw milestones for

18 people recorded a PB

Our incredible volunteers have saved the day again, and RD Jess has a full roster

The forecast suggests it might be a touch damper than what we've been used to, but we've a way to go before the mud bath is back!

Finish tokens - the thing we all looking forward to receiving on a Saturday morning

As it stands, there'll be a long queue to get yours scanned as we only have 1 barcode scanner this week. Another scanner or 2 would be greatly appreciated (fast runners would be welcome)

And that's assuming we get that far as we are also short of 2 marshals to get our minimum number to go ahead

And once again, a very apt one with a reminder of the positives you get from volunteering - it really is such a great way to spend a couple of hours if you can swap for your run every few weeks

If you would like to give it a go this week we are in need of:

⭐ Finish token hander-outer x1
⭐ Barcode scanners x1 at least (could be a fast runner)
⭐ Marshals x3 at least

We are also looking to boost numbers on our set-up team, so if you are a regular with us and could come down before the event to help out, we'd love to have you along. Don't panic - you'll shadow someone for a couple of weeks before we set you free into the bridleway!
