West Byfleet Golf Club 18 hole Cuthbert Butchart & John Abercromby designed course in the heart of Surrey. Founded 1922 It is certainly one of the finest in the region - a true gem.

West Byfleet Golf Club was formed in 1922 but the course was originally laid down in 1904 when the land was owned by Mr Hugh Locke-King. The original course was designed by Cuthbert Butchart, a much respected professional of his time whose projects included Worplesdon, West Hill and Royal County Down, the luscious links in Ireland. Although the odd hole has been lost and others changed, the majority of the course remains faithful to the original design. The course is mostly level with just the odd gradient to add some variation making it the ideal place for golfers of all ages and abilities. The course is always in good condition throughout the year, but watch out for the slick greens and tough pin positions during the summer months! What the course can lack in length is more than made up for in its need to keep your ball on the fairways and greens. Many golf enthusiasts believe West Byfleet to be one of the most underrated golf courses in Surrey. We enjoy a thriving membership with plenty of competitive and non competitive golf along with a busy social calendar. We have a number of membership options available on request via the website or by contacting the club directly and always welcome visitors (green fees vary through the year). Congratulations to our own Fredrik Lindgren, who won England Golf's Senior Men's County Champion of Champions at Woodhall Spa at the weekend.

Fred qualified after successfully defending the Surrey Seniors County Championship, and his victory makes him the second West Byfleet member to get his name on the trophy, following Keith Waters in 2015.

Solheim Cup week calls for a celebration of one of Europe's finest: Dame Laura Davies DBE, the event's all-time leading points scorer.

She learned the game here at West Byfleet as a junior, and her legacy remains proudly displayed on our walls. Laura is a cherished Honorary Life Member of West Byfleet, and we're lucky to have her.

The bunkering is thoughtful and clear, and there are few places to lose a ball. The result is a fun, engaging round that flows beautifully, where you walk off the 18th with energy, not exhausted.
