Asking for a friendā¦
*SAVE for when you need to show your support*
1. Trust me, itās not exciting. Please try not to use that word. It might seem exciting to you, as someone supporting them, however, itās usually the start of a long, emotional and physically demanding process.
2. IVF isnāt just an appointment here and there, itās a whole job on top of their job. From the moment you decide to go ahead, it takes over their time, their body and thoughts.
3. Thatās why the small, practical things can mean the most, a food delivery (still the best thing we received from family), help around the house, a message that simply says thinking of you.
4. Please remember, IVF doesnāt guarantee a baby. Far from it. So try to balance your hope that it works with understanding that it may just be the start of a much longer journey.
5. Be kind. Sheās full of hormones, her clothes might not fit, her hope keeps rising and falling and her tolerance for life is probably thin. If she cancels plans or goes quiet, let her. Give her space without needing her to explain.
