Sharon Woods Tournament Rules, Sunday 19th July 2026
The tournament will be held at Wendron Football Club, The Underlane, Rame, Helston TR13 0EH on Sunday 19th July 2026 Registration starts at 8.30am with the first game commencing at 10am promptly.
Each age group will be assigned a pitch section where their games will be played over two pitches. Each pitch will play until they reach a semi final and then the semi finalists will play each other in the final.
The referee’s decision is final. Any poor behaviour from players and/or managers/coaches will not be tolerated and may lead to your team’s removal from the tournament and/or the premises.
The team manager/coach will remain responsible for the health and well-being of all participants and their club will remain liable for any incidents/accidents.

1 Age groups, Squads & Player Qualification.
1.1 Age groups will relate to the 2025-2026 season.
U7, U8 play 5 v 5. Non-competitive, no semi final/final. U7 & U8’s will receive a participation medal.
U9, U10, U11, U12 play 7 v 7.
U13 play 6 v 6.
1.2 Register your team on arrival with the appropriate Wendron Team Manager at the appropriate pitch. They should be wearing a Hi Viz Jacket for easy identification. Each team may have a squad of up to 10 players.
1.3 Each player may only play for one team throughout the duration of the tournament.
1.4 Each team shall appoint a manager. The manager shall remain responsible for their team being registered on arrival and is available to play on the correct pitch at the correct time. Each team must be available to commence play as required.
The manager is also responsible for adherence to the tournament rules and communication of the rules to their squads’ players and spectators.
1.5 All players must wear shin pads and appropriate footwear.
2 Duration of matches and balls.
2.1 All matches will be 8 minutes with no half-time. Teams will swap ends at 4 minutes.
2.2 All teams are responsible for considering players playing time does not exceed the FA’s guidelines on maximum playing time for their age group. Further details of playing times will be attached to the application email.
2.3 Wendron will provide all match balls in the correct size and quality for each age group.
2.4 In the event of a clash of Football kit colours, the second named team should provide alternative shirts/bibs.
3 Scores and Results.
3.1 In the league section of the tournament the following points will be awarded at 3 points for a win, 2 points for a score draw, 1 point a No score draw, 0 points for a loss.
3.2 Winning managers must give the referees match slip with the results to the scorer. If no referee match slip is provided the game will be assumed as a 0 – 0 draw.
3.3 The team with the most points will qualify in 1st place, and the team with the next highest score will qualify in second place. In the event of draw in either position then the following criteria are used in the following order.
A, Goal difference.
B, Highest number of goals scored.
C, The result of the game between the teams concerned.
D, Coin toss.
3.4 All knockout matches in the semi-final and final will be decided by the teams scoring the most goals during normal time. If the score is equal after normal time an extra 5 minutes will be played with 2.5 minutes being played each way. If the score is equal after extra time, a penalty shoot out will decide the winner.
4 Playing rules.
4.1 The laws of mini soccer association football will apply.
4.2 Substitutes roll on, roll off. A substituted player can return in the same match. Referees must be informed of and allow substitutions. The number of substitutions made during the game is unlimited.
4.3 Attacking players will retreat to the halfway line for goal kicks.
4.4 Due to the size of the pitch the goalkeeper cannot kick direct from his hands but can drop kick the ball.
5 Players, Officials and supporters conduct.
5.1 This competition uses the yellow and red card system.
5.2 An accumulation of two yellow cards on a single day in the competition will result in the player being suspended from the next match.
5.3 Two yellow cards in one match equals a red card and the player will be sent off.
5.4 A player who receives a red card (either straight red or for two yellow cards in the same match) will not be permitted to take any further part in the competition.
5.5 The referees shall be the sole arbiter in the matters relating to the field of play and their decision is FINAL. They are empowered to award the match against any team not ready to play on the stated pitch at the time of kick off. The tournaments director/s decision on matters of dispute concerning the rules is final.
