📢 Ardgowan Thistle FC Announces New Chairperson
Ardgowan Thistle FC would like to thank Andrew Mitchell as he steps down after four and a half years as Club Chair, and welcome Robert Henderson into the role.
During Andrew’s time as Chair, the club has continued to grow both on and off the pitch — strengthening our role in the community, expanding opportunities for young players, and helping create a positive environment for everyone involved with the club.
Robert brings a wealth of experience, having coached with the club since 2017 and playing a key role in helping the club recover after the pandemic. A current coach within our 2013 age group and a proud football parent himself, Robert is passionate about giving as many young people as possible the chance to play football and enjoy the game.
Andrew said: “I’m delighted with what we’ve achieved during my term in charge and I know the club is in safe hands with Robert and the rest of the committee, coaches and volunteers who make this club what it is today.”
Robert added: “I’m honoured to be following Andrew as Chair of an organisation that is making a real impact in the community and giving so many young people such positive experiences.”
Robert also highlighted the importance of volunteers in helping the club continue to thrive, encouraging parents, grandparents and supporters to get involved in areas such as fundraising, events, administration and matchday support.
Andrew will continue his involvement with the club through coaching and fundraising, and everyone at Ardgowan Thistle FC would like to thank him for his outstanding commitment and leadership.
We wish Robert every success as he begins his time as Chair.
