The Great Mewstone Paddle, Wembury Beach, Devon. Charity Paddle Challange around the Great Mewstone and back to wembury beach. This years Paddle is being held on Saturday 18th May 2013 and there will be Live Music, a Moostone Meats BBQ ,Refreshments, Face Painting, Tattoos, Bouncy Castle & Stalls. The After Party will be held at The Odd Wheel Pub from 17.30 untill closing

Great news!
Chestnut appeal and CoppaFeel will both receive cheques for £1532.38 each
As a total of £3064,76 was raised to donate from this years
Great Mewstone Paddle Challenge
We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped before and on the day to create such a successful event .
Everyone should be proud of achieving such a great amount for charity .

Please be aware of the following safety rules regarding the Paddle Day.

This event is being held to support the following charities
CoppaFeel and the Chestnut Appeal
Both these charities are well worthy of our contribution.

The cost of the day
Adults £20.00
Under 18's £5.00 each

It's is important to sign a disclaimer form available at the sign In point before registration commences
Without this form you will not be able to participate as this enables you to be covered by the terms of our public liability insurance.

There are five safety boats
jet ski support
Kayak support
Fire brigade Rib
If help is needed

1) parking on the day will be minimal,it would be easier if participants were dropped near to the beach before session starts.
2) There are two weddings at Wembury Church the first 2pm and the second 4pm
Please be aware the church car park cannot not be used.
3) Please remember to register at the sign in Point on the grass bank.
It is here where a number will be allocated(marker pen on hand)and noted.
4) On leaving the water please make sure you sign back in.
The registration team will be on the shoreline waiting to sign you back In
Please give them your number on your hand.

Spencer Pearson is in charge of the event please take instruction from him or a delegated helper when requested to.
Please remember this is a public Beach
Ensure anything you bring with is accounted for and subsequently taken back at the end of the day.
After the paddle is completed the day will conclude at the Odd Wheel Pub.
The day is all about having fun enjoying the water the beach and good company.
The weather outlook is good.

The Great Mewstone Paddle challenge

26th sept
raising money for the
Chestnut appeal & Coppafeel

----Swimmers----

2.00pm Registration for experienced swimmers only

2.30pm start for swimmers.

There will be five safety boats ,this is a charity swim
Registration fee is £20 if you would like more information or kayak support please ring spencer on 07870647258 for me to arrange appropriate numbers for support

----Charity paddle----

2.00-3.15 paddlers registration £20

3.15 the vicar of St Werburghs will bless all the participants of the Charity Event.
The charity paddle will start when the swim finishes.

The paddle is expected to take approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
This will include kayaks,Canoes,SUP Boards,Surf Boards,Paddle Boarders no swimmers .

Please be aware there is a wedding at 2.00 pm at wembury church so if you need to drop equipment to the beach make provisions before hand to limit congestion
Also locals if you can walk would be a great help

The old mill cafe will be on hand supplying tea and coffee to help you all keep warm for a small fee for charity .
also the cafe open as usual for food ect .

Once the paddle has finished The Great mewstone Paddle challenge after party will take place at
The Odd Wheel pub in wembury .

The Odd Wheel are very kindly allowing us to use their premises to have this charity event carry on from the beach with some live music & raffle.
There will be food at the odd wheel for the event from the odd wheel which will be an amazing selection of stir fry dishes .

Sweet chilli chicken
Sweet and sour pork
Beef in oyster sauce
Mediterranean veg
Choose one of these amazing dishes for £3.50 a box .
A donation to the charity from the odd wheel will be placed at the end of the event so please eat and drink well
We are so privileged to have live music from

7.30 pm Richard Harper (short notice) solo

9.00 pm Hang five ( local surfers band )

Raffle tickets will be sold during the event with a surfboard being one of the main prizes donated from Board style please buy as many as you can

The musicians are playing for charity so please support the cause .

As with all events if we unfortunately have to cancel / postpone the challenge due to bad weather (called on the day ) the evening party will still be going ahead so again please come and support your local bands and pub .

Good evening!
Exciting news!The great Mewstone paddle will be happening this September 26th at 2.30pm.
This will be a smaller event
Due to many commitments!
So who is up for the paddle?!
More info to follow in the next couple of days.
