As we head into the new season, we’re looking for more brilliant people to join our coaching team at Hatfield Youth FC. ⚽

We’re particularly looking for coaches to support:

⚽ Kickstarters (U4–U6)
⚽ U7s
⚽ U9s
⚽ U10s

You don’t need years of coaching experience. What matters most is enthusiasm, reliability and wanting to make a positive difference to local children.

And you won’t be doing it alone. 💚

We’ll support you with coaching guidance, a community of experienced coaches, FA qualifications and development, DBS checks, equipment and training wear.

Whether you want to lead a team, support an existing coach or simply find out what getting involved looks like, we’d love to hear from you.

What an incredible weekend of grassroots football.

Across two brilliant days we saw:

🙌 100s of players, coaches, volunteers, families and supporters
👨‍⚖️ 20 referees

We’re especially proud that Hatfield Youth celebrated success on home soil too, with our U8 Yellows lifting the Plate and our U12 Yellows A crowned Cup Champions. 💚💛

One tournament. One weekend. One Football Community. 💚

Events on this scale simply don’t happen without an incredible team behind the scenes.

Thank you to every volunteer who gave up their time before, during and after the tournament—setting up pitches, parking cars, running competitions, refereeing matches, serving refreshments, presenting trophies and packing everything away long after the final whistle. Your hard work is the reason this event continues to grow year after year.

A huge thank you also goes to our fantastic sponsors for their continued support, and to Walk The Walk Family Support Service, our charity partner, for the incredible work they do supporting local families.

Finally, thank you to every player, coach, referee, parent and supporter who joined us. The football was competitive, the atmosphere was brilliant, and the respect shown throughout the weekend reflected everything that’s great about grassroots football.

💚 90 minutes. 12 goals. One incredible cause. £3,735 raised.

Yesterday was never really about the score.

It was about bringing our community together to support local families who need it most.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who played, volunteered, donated and came along to support, together we raised an amazing £3,735.

That’s enough to fund 106 therapy sessions, free of charge, for families receiving support from Walk The Walk Family Support Service.

That is the result we’re proudest of.

A huge thank you to every player who represented Welwyn St Mary’s FC and the Hatfield Youth Legends for playing the game in the right spirit, and to everyone who came along to support, volunteer, donate and cheer us on.

One Match. One Community. One Great Cause. 💚

Tomorrow, our Hatfield Youth Legends take to the pitch against Welwyn St Mary’s FC in a charity football match that’s about so much more than the final score.

Tomorrow, club rivalries are put to one side as Hatfield Youth coaches, players, our Chairman and friends from across the local football community come together for one great cause.

We’re incredibly proud to be supporting , a local charity providing family support, mental health and emotional wellbeing services, helping local families through life’s toughest moments with compassion, practical support and expert guidance.

🟡🟢 OLLIE FOUNDATION 🟢🟡

This weekend sees multiple club members climbing Ben Nevis to help raise money for the OLLIE Foundation.

Story
Why are they Climbing Ben Nevis?
This July, a group of 40+ people will climb Ben Nevis in memory of two very special men — Tom, a parent within Hatfield Youth and Michael.

Both were just 44 years old.

Tom left behind his wife and three children.

Michael left behind three children.

Both left families and friends who miss them every single day.

They were loved. They were needed. They mattered.

We are climbing to honour them.

We are climbing to remember them.

And we are climbing so that fewer families have to experience this kind of heartbreak.

Two of our group, Coxy and Michael, will carry 44kg on their backs to represent each year of Tom and Michael’s lives.

On the way down the mountain, they will complete 44 burpees every 500 metres.

It will be tough.

It will hurt.

But it will never compare to the weight their families carry every single day.

We are raising money for The OLLIE Foundation, a su***de prevention and wellbeing charity on an important mission.

The OLLIE Foundation provides accessible in-person and online awareness sessions, events and resources designed to reduce the number of people who feel like su***de is their only option. They work to give people the confidence to support someone to stay safe for now.

Because truly…

🟡🟢 PLAYERS WANTED 🟢🟡

As we move into the 2026/27 we are looking to add to all our squads across all the age groups.

After a very successful season, with teams reaching cup finals, winning tournaments and progressing significantly on the pitch, its the perfect time to join.

With us back in training now, we will have either 2x training sessions or friendly matches a week, giving plenty of football to all players, new and old.

As a club we offer events throughout the season including the Christmas Party, Fundraising and helping the community.

We are not teams, we are a club, we support in all possible ways and help kids thrive.

🏆 U10 Tournament Winners! 🏆

Hatfield Youth Greens U10 were in 7-a-side tournament action today at Bengeo tigers. With 9 players available, it meant plenty of football for everyone in the exhausting heat, but every single player made their contribution in what turned into a brilliant morning of football.

With a slow start, the team lost their opening game before drawing the other two group matches. Despite the results, they looked the better side in every game but just couldn’t convert the chances they created.

The team responded brilliantly in the knockout stages, winning the semi-final 1-0 after some lovely team football. Zachary made a great run down the wing before delivering a superb cross into the box. After the ball bounced around the area, Reggie was on hand to calmly finish.

The final couldn’t have been much tighter and was decided on penalties. Albie scored Hatfield Youth Greens U10’s only penalty, while Reggie produced an outstanding performance in goal, saving two of the three penalties he faced, with the other hitting the post.

Everyone at Hatfield Youth is incredibly proud of this team. Every player worked tirelessly in difficult conditions, supported one another throughout, and thoroughly deserved today’s success.

One of the standout moments of the day came before the final. The players gathered together for their own team talk. They didn’t need prompting from the coaches—they wanted to encourage each other. Seeing that togetherness and leadership before the biggest game of the day was a real reflection of how far they’ve come this season and how much they wanted to do well for one another.

A special mention also goes to Richard and George. The hard work, time and dedication they’ve put into this team throughout the season has been there for everyone to see. Today’s success is a deserved reward for everything they’ve done to help this group develop, not just as footballers, but as teammates and people.

Congratulations to every player on a fantastic achievement. This trophy is a reward for months of hard work, commitment and development, and everyone at Hatfield Youth is incredibly proud of what this team has achieved today.

Last Saturday saw our annual presentation where we invited nearly 200 players along to show appreciation for the season.

With recognition for every player and 5 major trophies for each age group, we had a day of smiles and excitement.

With some players having outstanding seasons and winning more than one, it just highlights what your efforts can achieve.

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR UNDER 11S WHO WON THIS SEASON PANSHANGER TOURNAMENT 👏👏👏

This side has shown clear progression throughout the season and the weekend showed just how far they have come. This team fully deserves the plaudits and adulation that comes with being winners.

On the day, they only conceded two goals in the entire tournament. Showing domination and a clear eye for goal.

Thank you to all invovled, the players, parents and coaches.

A huge final thank you to Panshanger for hosting yet another great weekend.
