I would be lying if I said I was busy today, it’s been a bare minimum kinda day after a saturday at Oxstalls Cross Country British eventing, it’s a bit of a drive but well worth it and the courses were fabulous with a bit of everything to test the horses.
Bill and Judy’s Arkan Jack did not disappoint, finally shedding the pounds so I could get the dressage saddle back on which helped, followed by a super double clear to finish 8th in a very professional feild.
Kimberley and Gus took on their second 100 and came home with a double clear which is smashing and finished 11th
Mary Moberly’s Mosstown Luna surprised us yet again, chillington wasn’t a fluke and we even improved our performance with a cracking double clear in the 80, it hasn’t been an easy winter so this has been very rewarding for the team around her. We should have been 6th but unfortunately I wore a watch which I never do at this level and some how managed to get time faults over thinking it 🫣 so finished just outside the top 10
Unfortunately the good vibes crashed down when Millie and Ellie finished before they even started, I’m not finding blame but some Adults really need to have thought in their comments to young riders, causing unnecessary tension whilst sat on a young mare apparently doesn’t help any situation, Ellie has been nothing more than a confidence boost to millie but yesterday that was not the case and they didn’t even make it into their test. The stewards were so lovely to mils and I can’t thank them enough for that. It’s done and it’s over no we will move forward to hopefully resolve the problem going forward
Many thanks to sponsors for all your help with the horses
