Today it's bowler of the year. Hot dry weather made for good pitches and a difficult year for the bowlers. Nonetheless, Neil, Jerin and Jay were all in the wickets. But ahead of the pack, with 11 wickets including 4 to set up our first victory, the winner was Tim P.

Tim couldn't make the awards evening, so here's a team photo from that first victory.

Today we turn to the Jay Smith Champagne Moment award...the highlight of 2025 was clearly our game against The Star, and we first began to believe we might win during our rapid opening partnership.

So for going out there and playing with such conviction, the joint winners were Rex and Rufus...who weren't in Bath (Rex is on the other side of the world), so here's their dad's picking up the trophy.

Today we move on to the Batter of the Year. 2025 was a good year for the batters, so there was lots of competition.

But for scoring 240 runs at an average of 57 and strike rate of 124, including a match winning 60* against Preston, the winner was Neil Jelley. A real gent and a team player as well - we're delighted he joined us last year.

An appeal from some of our friends in Bristol. Comment below if you're interested and we'll link you up:

Groundsman Needed
Location: Lyde Green, Bristol
Salary: To be discussed

We’re looking for a Groundsman to prepare and maintain our cricket square, produce match-ready wickets throughout the season, and carry out any necessary off-season work. You’ll need to use your own equipment to start with, but the club plans to invest in its own machinery over time.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please get in contact. Thank you!

Ram CC

We started life on the other side of Bath and then relocated in the Ram in Widcombe. The pub may have closed recently, but the cricket team lives on! We didn’t win a game for several years, but these days we win and lose in equal measure, but always try to have fun.

We play exclusively social cricket against a mixture of pub, workplace and village sides, mainly on week day evenings, but also on a few Sundays each year. We also try to go on tour every other year. In the winter, we hold indoor net sessions to remind ourselves what to do.

Anyone is welcome to join and play for the Ram CC, even if you’ve never held a cricket bat before. We aim to play competitive cricket with good humour, grace and sense of fun in the hope that, whatever the result both teams will go home happy. We also want to generate an atmosphere in which players are valued for themselves not just their cricketing abilities and to ensure that all those representing the club have a good level of involvement in the game.
