Such a privilege to spend this weekend training with Sifu Wing Cheung - Qigong Instructor Training, Level 3, Tai Chi Neigong. I’m proud to say I’ve passed my practical assessment. One more course and another assessment to go. I’m really looking forward to being able to share this special practice in the future. Qigong is a pathway of lifelong learning, and it’s a beautiful one. 🥰

Benefits of Tai Chi Movements
1. Slow, gentle, safe, controlled movements which improve flexibility whilst gently build internal muscle strength.
2. Side stepping and conscious weight shifts help improve balance and aids fall prevention.
3. Movements stimulate blood flow to the whole body.
4. Calming, yet energising moves.
5. Maintain body awareness.
6. Whilst the movements are normally completed standing, they can also be carried out in a seated position.

Benefits of Tai Chi Breathing (abdominal breathing)
1. Deep, slow, even breathing increases oxygenation and blood flow to the brain as well as the entire body.
2. Increases heart rate variability which positively affects cognitive areas of the brain.
3. Helps calm and focus the mind
4. Helps to activate the parasympathetic nervous system to enhance the body’s power to repair and restore.

If you haven't already done so, why not give Tai Chi a try. Trial lessons only cost £3. To book email [email protected]

Thursday 10th October is World Mental Health Day. Neurons that fire together, wire together. Small, positive actions every day will add up to large changes over time. Tai Chi’s positive visualisation, gentle movements and slow breathing, quieten the mind and foster feelings of relaxation and tranquility. Allow yourself the time to slow down, relax and recharge. "The mind is like water. When it's turbulent it's difficult to see. When it's calm, everything becomes clear." Prasad Mahes
