Inactivity breeds inactivity. The less you do the less you want to do, true story!!

It would have been easy to not train this last month, with a festival, a trip to Ibiza and other social events, I’ve had to really push myself to keep training around it all. There have been days (lots of them) I’ve not felt like it, but after every session I’ve been glad I have made myself do it. I would have felt a lot worse if I had kept skipping my workouts….and my body would be feeling awful right now.

Perimenopause isn’t much fun, but training throughout it is the single best way to tell it to go f@&k itself.

Keeping active, keeping moving, and staying strong will always come above sitting on the sofa. It’s never too late to make some changes and start feeling better than you do now, or turn over a new leaf in your life.

I help a lot of ladies to feel like they are sticking two fingers up to perimenopause, and we have a lot of fun while we do it. Fitness doesn’t have to be boring, and it doesn’t have to feel lonely. Get in touch if you want more info 🫶🏼

Carla started Menofit best part of a year ago, she came every week, and always gave it 100%. She has always been an integral part of the group, she has us in hysterics most weeks and is a lovely lady.

A couple months ago she decided to take the plunge and join Spartan Chamber, I got her set up on my app with a program tailored to her fitness goals so she knew exactly what she was doing. We were chatting earlier today and she told me she was thinking about coming off her meds which is amazing, so I asked her if she would mind putting this down in a message for me to share in the hope it could help someone else, and she went above and beyond with what she sent. 🫶🏼

Most people think fitness is all about aesthetics, but the effects it has on our mental health and our minds is something that needs to be shouted for those at the back. Being told things like this makes me very happy, happy that I have been able to play a part in helping someone feel better in themself every day, to the point they feel like they can do this on their own without the help of meds is just awesome. It’s been so good watching Carla find her vibe in the gym, I think I can safely say she is hooked now. Can’t wait to see where her journey takes her.

Too much work and not enough play as the saying goes. If life’s taught me anything this last year it’s that you have to enjoy every single part. Work hard, train hard and play hard. Make memories so hard that you never forget the fun times 🫶🏼 this month is busy and full of memories waiting to be made, starting next week with one of my favourite things to do, tent life at a festival with my fav 🫶🏼💗roll on the laughs 🙌🏼

There’s something really special about what’s happening in this photo❤️

Yes, we come together to exercise.
Yes, we get stronger.
Yes, we work hard.

But somewhere between the laughs, the encouragement, and the “one more rep, you’ve got this”… something even more important happens.

Strangers become friends.
Women realise they’re not doing this alone.
A group of like-minded women build each other up, week after week.

In a world where it’s easy to feel isolated, especially through our 40s and beyond, having people who genuinely cheer you on is priceless.

Menofit was never just about fitness.
It’s about confidence.
It’s about connection.
It’s about finding your people.

I’m so proud of the community we’ve created together, and I know it’s only going to keep growing. 💜

Here’s to getting stronger together, supporting one another, and proving that you’re never too old to make new friendships.

Imagine if women chased strength the way we’ve been taught to chase the scales.

Imagine celebrating your first push-up as much as losing 2lb.

Imagine getting excited about adding 5kg to the bar instead of obsessing over every gram on the scales.

Imagine measuring progress by what your body can do, not just what it looks like.

Because here’s the thing…

The scales can tell you your weight.
They can’t tell you:
💪 How much stronger you’ve become.
❤️ How much fitter you are.
🦴 Whether you’re building healthier bones.
😊 How much more confident you feel.
🏋️ How capable your body has become.

Strength gives you so much more than a number ever will.

Yes, losing body fat can absolutely be a worthwhile goal if it’s right for you. But don’t let the scales become the only measure of success.

Celebrate the extra rep.
Celebrate lifting a heavier weight.
Celebrate having more energy.
Celebrate walking up the stairs without getting out of breath.
Celebrate showing up, even when you didn’t feel like it.

Your body is capable of so much more than simply weighing less.

What if, instead of asking, “How much do I weigh?” we started asking, “What am I capable of today?”

I know which question I’d rather answer.
