Phew what a day. 4th qualifying run we were 0.904 off so ended up 35 in a 32 car field so technically didn't qualify. However in drag racing we have "alternates" ( look it up on Google if you are interested) . So we were 3rd alternate. So onto Elimination round 1 we pulled into the pairing lanes basically hoping 3 other qualified racers could not make there run due to whatever reason! That happend 😁 we ran against Doug McClure. Brilliant race he had 0.0564 reaction time and ran 0.0023 off his dial in. However I had a 0.0179 reaction time and ran 9.9479 on a 9.93 so 0.0179 off dial in but due to the better reaction time got to the stripe just before hime to take the win. So we are through to round 2 in the morning.

Not the best day in the driving seat. New rear end set up appears to be working but needs fine tuning. Weather has been playing havoc with accurately picking dial in times ( plus tweeking).First 2 runs much slower than expected 9.84 and 9.95!!! Last run a bit better at back at 9.84 but looking at weather data shouldn't have ran that fast but with tweeking it makes it difficult to tell weather it was a lull in the wind or the last tweek made some improvements. Unfortunately the only way is to try these things! More unfortunately this means we are currently qualified 31 in a 32 car field with only 1 more qualifying run tomorrow morning 😲😲.
