9.50 BIKE

9.50 BIKE A page for those who compete in 9.50 Bike drag racing and fans of the class. Rounds are held throughout the year at Santa Pod organised by SPRC.

9.50 Bike is National Class based on Street Bike Drag Racing, no wheely bars are allowed. max wheelbase 68" and you must use road legal tyres running the 9.5 second index over the quarter mile. You will need to be a member of of SPRC and also be the holder of an ACU Licence to compete. The perfect class to start in , as uses a pro tree the same as 8.50 and super street bike closes. Qualify saw Matt Gatland take the top spot with a 9.51 👏🏻👏🏻

Race Day.
Elimination round 1 was a round of breakouts.
With weather conditions changing overnight everyone was quick.
⭐️Alex Hope 9.45 defeated Matt Gatland 9.37
⭐️Thomas cook Abbott 9.49 defeated Harvey Taylor 9.39
⭐️Hayden Mechaell 9.46 defeated Dion Hartley 9.39

With 8 entries everyone was excited to see the event unfold
Pre event test day saw a number of the 9.50 riders take advantage of track time before things got started on the Friday qualifying.
Darren Norsworthy testing his new bike on observe runs during test day. Quickly getting to grips with everything, learning what’s required.
The class welcomed back Alex Hope and Dion Hartley also Harvey Taylor stepping up from junior drag bike.

⭐️Qualify day 1 (Friday) saw Hayden Mechaell quickest.

⭐️Onto qualify day 2.. everyone was aiming for that top spot.
Day 2 saw a BIG wheelie from Dave Hall unfortunately resulting in a chest impact which prevented Dave continuing the weekend 😔
Q4 saw 1st and 2nd swap places.
Congratulations went to Dion Hartley for No1 qualifier with Hayden in second.

⭐️Race Day ….
Due to weather conditions all bike classes raced over the 1/8th which set a new ET for the day.
9.50 became 6.05
With Dave unable to take part we saw 2 byes in the 1st round……
No1 qualifier Dion Hartley -bye

2nd round…

Which set the class final a battle of 1st & 2nd qualifiers.
🏆Hayden took the win with a 6.08 defeating Dion’s breakout 6.03.
