He’s not always the easiest.
He’s not always the most focused.
He gets overwhelmed by the atmosphere.
And I am terribly anxious sometimes.
Today was tigers 2nd jumping show and he got super wound up on the warm up which left him feeling anxious when entering the actual ring.
This is the best part of his round and he was very backwards but he was very honest. In my head I was absolutely crushing myself because I rode like a sack of potatoes but he just kept going.
We had to circle at the start as he got wound up and threw himself across the arena leaving us with 4 faults but we got a time of 45 seconds.
I tend to beat myself up about it as I feel I’m to blame but sometimes horses just have days where they’re not 100% and today was one of them.
I’ve got a lesson Tuesday to sorting my brain cells out and get me out of the anxious mode.
Overall I’m so proud of him as he jumped well once he got going and I actually rode him properly (not anxiously) you can’t really ask for much more. Just need to work on travelling forward 👍
