Photinia fraseri Marbled leaves are smashing πŸ‘Œ Each pair of leaves on opposite sides match. If you squint you can count all the blotches. I ❀️ these evergreens shrubs. That's hard to admit as I prefer perennials!

More berries on this Cotoneaster pronounced cotton easter if you want a clip round the ear.

Hydrangea and Fern in morning light.

The Hydrangea again, looking wonderful 😍 all colours on her massive heads.

To the left. x1. Border part shade. Morning sun. Heavy clay soil with extra manure, wood based compost and grit added before planting at start of season.
Salvia PurpleLips, Yellow cloud conifer, grey fence, pink dahlia with dark foliage, Helianthemum Wisley Pink, nemesis banana and cream, red hot Pokers.

To the right x2. Border part sun. Afternoon sun. Heavy clay soil with manure, wood based compost, and grit added before planting mid-season.
Agapanthus Charlotte, Gerbera, Parahebe snow cloud, Lavender Hidcote, Annual Geranium mixture, Canna tropicana, and Fuchsia Genii.

Canna tropicana with weird πŸ€” cricket thing on it. It wasn't very happy with me moving the leaves. These can give a nasty nip apparently.

Luckily I do. Here is a picture of one.

Check out the colours on this windowsill favourite 😍

Baby Succulents are starting to form on leaflets, I pulled from the plant just over a month ago.

Self set Hazel had to go today. Left a gap next to the Laurel heart. This area is due to be rejuvenated soon. Design 1 handed to client today.

Behold the stick pile! I saved, deleafed and stood to dry, the branches I cut off the Hazel. These are excellent πŸ‘Œ for use instead of canes, good for building woven creations with and marking plants. I also saved some sunflower stalks from last week as these were dead straight and well over 7ft tall!! Perfect πŸ˜€

Chop and drop method of cutting back this season. Im leaving the old seed heads insitu as this will help moisture content, add nutrients, feed the 🐦 πŸ¦β€β¬› birds and insects and hopefully the seeds self set to make free plants next year.

Look who is eating her lunch on my driveway! When I got back, after locking the jalopy, I noticed a lot of feathers near the bird feeder, at first I didn't notice her as she is so well camouflaged. I crept quietly into the front door so that she can finish. Nothing likes their lunch break being disturbed 😐 What a spectacular bird. πŸ‘Œ Beautiful 😍

Floral arrangements aren't my forte, but at least I had a go! These are Phlox and Cola plant from my garden. Add a little water to a shallow dish or bowl, pop in one of these pin holders, and voila! Mini flower arrangement for the kitchen.

A quick pic of my Cacti greenhouse with my tried and tested method of sunshading. The big pegs are nice and strong from Dan Cooper Garden - Where Gardens Grow and do a smashing job of holding the technical cardboard in place. The morning sun can scorch some tender leaves, so this method protects them. Patent Pending. (Not).

Mothers teapot. Not for tea anymore.

Tomatoes πŸ… at Ely Market on Saturday looking πŸ‘Œ πŸ˜‹ Delicious. Ely Markets

Isle Soap Co Isle Soap is the best stall on Ely Market. Amazing smelling soaps, oils, and soothing creams for every part of this gardeners aching body. ❀️

Check out the colours on the Echevaria Blue Galaxy. The leaf borders have all turned red and orange since its started raining 🌧. A real contrast against its usually cool 😎 blue πŸ’™. This one lives outside all year round in an urn. It plays happily with the Vinca Illumination and Thyme. Its a real toughie.

The biggest Lavender Hidcote πŸ’œ had a short back and sides today. It was on the path by over a foot, and it towers above Crocosmia Lucifer growing in amongst. Im drying the stems in the orangery.

A group of Fungi appeared in the Strulch under the Penstemon 😍 Pretty pink gills. Smelt nutty. Didnt risk it. Im not fussed with mushrooms on my plate. Although a big field mushroom with butter and garlic πŸ˜‹ πŸ‘Œ is a nice breakfast addition.

September starts with a bang 😎 Literally, a proper thunderstorm πŸ‘Œ and some actual wet rain to dampen the dust.

Drizzle again all day here, but still warm.

Some leaves have started falling, winter cyclamen have started flowering, and summer plants are still going. It's all got a bit mixed up.

My beautiful Mammilliaria Cacti has an enormous flower this year. Almost Side plate sized. As usual, the bloom starts opening in the evening with full exposure overnight. The next morning , it started closing. This one was knocked off by the rain, but at least it opened up first. Check out the inside......a long dark tunnel to the gates of somewhere really warm? Spectacular sight.

All the pink tones seem to be poking me in the eyes this morning.

Petunias. Like marmite, love ❀️ em or hate em?
I love ❀️ these doubles 😍 super bright, massive heads, last ages, nice sticky sap on fingers when deadheading, they have they're own 'scent'.

I planted this huge bowl with a mix of double Petunias, Marigolds and an Alstromeria. Im impressed with the performance πŸ‘ of the Alstromeria. It just keeps going! Looking fabulous πŸ‘Œ

Marigolds are one of my favourites. They are so simple, yet so delightful 😊. The 'fragrance' should be bottled.

Little Lantana flowers in the colours of Fruit Salad chew sweets. πŸ˜‹ Delicious. Used to be 5p. I'd get Black Jack's and Fruit Salads, remove the wrappers from a few, and stick them together. Then spend the next hour or so struggling to chew them.

Our tomatoes πŸ… πŸ˜‹ doing really well this season. Slow to start, slower to ripen, but taste πŸ‘Œ πŸ˜‹ top marks. There are 2 plants per leg of obelisk: 3 varieties of red and 1 of yellow. Its a bit packed!

How are your tomatoes πŸ… growing?

Sneaky antirrhinum grown through into the rockery, at least this one colour matches!

Planted this rockery last season with my lovely 😍 elderly client. We are loving the colour smash up.

The Marigolds and Catanache have performed their little socks off, and have been showing off for months.

Yellow antirrhinum is like 'Hey you guys' πŸ’› !!

Overgrown Lavender got a short back n sides. We laid out the stems on newspaper to dry for a week, then we will hang it properly for crafting projects over winter.

Willow cave is getting a bit overgrown, but the shape is coming along wonderfully. The Honeysuckle is gleefully climbing up the sides and the self set Sorbus is also joining in. πŸ‘Œ

More to follow.

What is your favourite Lavender craft?
