Thursday 27th August 🌧️⛳️
A very welcome 15mm of rainfall arrived overnight — just what the course needed! 💧🌱
Out on the course this morning, the greens have been rolled, with further aeration work completed. Over the last couple of days, we’ve been putting our Air2G2 to good use, aerating the greens without disturbing the playing surface. The Air2G2 uses compressed air to relieve compaction and create air channels down to around 12 inches (30cm), helping improve oxygen flow, drainage and root development. 🌱💨
We’re also cutting and tidying a number of bunker edges, banks and surrounds today, while another key job on the hit list is replenishing sand in a number of our bunkers. 🏖️
This will be an ongoing task. Yesterday was largely spent moving sand around the bunkers, as sand naturally builds up in some areas while other sections become low. After such a dry summer, combined with periods of windy weather and the natural loss of sand from shots being played, it’s important that we keep levels topped up.
We’ll be giving particular attention to the bunkers over the coming weeks, with the aim of improving their overall standard and playability. ⛳️👌
