We are delighted to announce that Wedmore's Village field is now ready for use. With the great preparation and wet weather the grass has taken very well, providing a great location for Wedmore Harvest Home and a brilliant facility for the community.
The Isle of Wedmore Football Club have put a couple of goal out in readiness for the U7's and U8's next season. Please feel free to picnic, have a kick about, game of rounders etc....but ensure you remove all rubbish and be respectful of the equipment. While the cricket season is in full swing we would advise that the village field is used instead of the main pitches for football, kicking about etc to avoid injuries and interfering with the cricket. Thanks

Huge shout out to skipper Lloyd Patch and our Second XI who have had an extremely successful season, finishing 3rd in a very competitive league with the top spots taken by new teams who in truth are yet to find their level.

Having been bolstered by the appearances of stalwarts B. Burgess and P. Patch, the 2s returned an impressive 13 wins and 4 losses, which included a 5- match unbeaten streak to finish the year

Congratulations to Whitty who second top scored in the league with 635 runs @70.56 and Tim Ingle who took the most wickets in the league and was 12th in the whole of Somerset with 29!

DIVISION 1 HERE WE COME… WEDMORE FIRST XI MAKE IT 4 PROMOTIONS IN A ROW WITH TENSE WIN vs ILTON🎉🎉🎉🎉

We’ve done it!!! Having been behind the pack for most of the year, a superb 6 game unbeaten run to finish the season and a favour from Cheddar see the First XI promoted to Division 1✅

Batting first on a used deck, we built a solid total of 237-9 with runs from around the team. Stokes top scoring with 40 and Evans 37

Chasing, Ilton dominated the first 30 overs and looked poised to take the game away from us at 200-4 in the 33rd. With news filtering through from elsewhere that results had gone our way, it really was now or never. Win we are up, lose we stay in Div 2. Steedman, returning for his final 3 overs, struck twice for the 5th and 6th wickets. Young Tucker was given the ball at the Blackford end and removed their set batsman on 98. The equation, 3 wickets needed and 30 runs to play with in the 35th. Steedman, in his final over, struck two more times, both lbw, in what was an unbelievable bit of death bowling and at this point you could cut the tension with a knife. Golden arm Tucker, with his first ball in the 39th, taking the final wicket thanks to a sprawling one handed catch from the skipper - Ilton 212 all out and pandemonium ensued

What an amazing way to end the season.
