🌊 Push & Glide Charity Swimming Gala – Making Waves in aid of 🏊‍♂️💖

What an incredible day it was on Sunday 23rd November 2025! Over 260 young swimmers, some as young as six, came together at Northwood College for Girls for our Charity Swimming Gala in aid of The atmosphere was electric! ⚡💦

Swimmers from both our John Lyon School pool and Northwood College showed amazing skill, determination and sportsmanship throughout the event. From tiny Stage 5s to confident older swimmers, everyone gave their all and made the day truly inspiring. 🏊‍♀️

Our younger swimmers raced 25m in all strokes, while those aged 11+ took on 50m freestyle and backstroke, plus 25m butterfly and breaststroke. Every race was packed with courage, focus and flair, earning huge cheers from the crowd. 🎉👏

A huge thank you to all competitors, families, friends and supporters—your energy and encouragement made the gala unforgettable! 💛

We’re especially grateful to Northwood College for Girls for welcoming us into their beautiful pool and to their fantastic staff for ensuring everything ran smoothly. A massive shout-out to the 50 incredible Push & Glide volunteers—your positivity, hard work and behind-the-scenes dedication were the heart of the event. 💖🙌

Thank you also to Wenzel's Bakers for keeping everyone fuelled with a delicious lunch—your generosity was much appreciated!

Beyond the excitement, the gala had a powerful purpose. Together, we raised £6,000 for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice and collected donations for the local foodbank. Every splash and every cheer helped make a real difference. 🥰

From our youngest swimmers to our older champions, the day celebrated passion, perseverance and community spirit. Push & Glide swimmers didn’t just compete—they inspired, supported one another, and showed how swimming can truly change lives. 🌟

🌻 A Huge Thank You to Neev! 🌻 At Push & Glide, we believe in kindness, community and helping others—and today we want to shine a big, bright spotlight on our Neev who has truly embodied those values.

This year, young Neev took on a very special project. In the spring, he planted and cared for his own sunflowers. When autumn arrived, he harvested them, carefully collected every seed and sold them to raise money for our local food bank charity! He chose this charity because, in his own words, “food is essential for living.”

Not only did his sunflower seeds bring joy to everyone who bought them, but they will also help create more beauty and support wildlife when they are planted next year. What a cycle of giving!

Thanks to Neev’s hard work—and the generosity of everyone who supported him—he was able to go shopping in order to donate a huge amount of food to help families this Christmas. As Neev beautifully said, “At Christmas, having enough food matters even more because it’s a time for sharing and being together.”
We couldn’t be prouder. 🌟
 Well Done Neev! You have shown how one thoughtful idea can make a real difference. Your kindness is inspiring and you’ve helped make Christmas a little brighter for many families. ♥️
